Great doc! Very thorough and compassionate. Actually listened to me!

When she was in practice in Blakeslee she declined my coverage which was Aetna where she was a participating doctor. I had a very serious bloody nose and she took my blood pressure which was normal and told me I was fine. She charged me 75.00 and sent me home. She rejected my insurance and told me she would never make any money on people like me. This woman should loose her license.

I was very sick when I went to see Dr. Vrabec. I had been sick for months without a diagnosis and had gone broke. I was at that point, a Medicaid patient. Based on her attitude, I think Dr. Vrabec is less than compassionate towards those who are on govt provided health care. She was actually downright mean. After I told her my symptoms, she told me there was nothing wrong with me and I should exercise more ( I was at this point experiencing wasting and was down twenty pounds without trying). She hinted that I should quit smoking, but I did not smoke. It was just something she assumed, and I can't help but wonder if she assumed it due to my appearance and the fact that I was on Medicaid. She never even had me take off my winter coat to be examined. I left in tears and went to the Emergency Room, costing the system much more than I'm sure Dr. Vrabec would be pleased with. I eventually found a wonderful doctor who took me seriously and got me in for proper testing. As it turned out, I had… hernitated discs in my spine that were causing pain and tingling, and my adrenal glands were not producing normal amounts of dopamine, noradrenaline and cortisol which explained everything else. After discovering the problem I was able to get better and back to my life, no thanks to Dr. Vrabec. I appreciate a no-nonsense attitude, but not everything is what it seems. If a patient is coming to you in tears, there is probably a real problem that you should be kind about. Oh right, she told me to get a mental health evaluation because it wasn't normal that I was crying in her office over the way she was treating me. It was unreal. I suggest that Dr. Vrabec switch professions, as someone with her demeanor is not suited to dealing with vulnerable, sick people. She did nothing but waste my time and money and make me feel like I would never find any real help. But I didn't let here insistence that there was nothing wrong with me stop me from searching for an answer, and with the help of a much kinder, interested doctor, I found it. Vrabec was a hurdle to go through that taught me an important lesson: Never trade your own intuition for the opinion of a "professional" especially if they don't even examine you. Terrible experience, save yourself some trouble and don't see this doctor.

I'm very confused over the bad comments. I just started seein Dr. Joyce about 6 months ago. I had been to several docs in the past an nobody seemed to try and help me. I've had belly pain off and on for years and she finally figured out for me I have sarcoidosis. Not much to do about it but at least I have an answer. Yes she is very straight forward but don't you want that in a doctor? Also I've been having money issues and she was nice enough to waive the copay. I certainly would recommend this doctor!

RUN from this doctor. I have had nothing but bad experiences with her from being told "to let her do all the talking" to her not filling prescriptions after an extra 3 days was needed for a simple urinary tract infection, which she required me to come back in for another $30.00 office visit, to having to pay $25.00 for a "phone conversation" to her keeping me on hold for an EpiPen refill through mail. She does not like people. She's arrogant and makes you uncomfortable for becoming ill and needing her care. RUN!! I will never return and hope in the meantime I do not get stung by a bee and die. We are not talking Oxycontin here, it's a bee sting life saving medication.

Had a very good experience, will bethere for years, she is smart, direct and fixes the problem. Very nice, clean office and staff is great too.

Just moved to the area, lots of medical problems, dr very intelligent and prompt and serious. I have no complaints.
