Dr. Joycelyn Agagon Datu, MD

Terrible experience. If you want a doctor that cares or even shows a modicum of interest, do not see Dr. Datu. When i clearly explained my issues, her response demonstrated that she had not listened to a word i said. She is cold and after less than 15 minutes told me she couldn't help me. Highly recommend avoiding Dr. Datu.

Dr. Datu is incompetent. My father in law started seeing her this year, and right from day one she has been a disappointment. She comes off as rude and dismissive, seems rushed and put out, and didnt even call his mental health counselor like she said she would. FF to today, I find his leg completely infected. He had whacked his leg on a coffee table a month ago and got 16 stitches. He went back to get them taken out ny Dr. Datu - she said she took all 16 out - covered it up and sent him on his way. My father in law has extreme mental health issues and clearly is unable to care for this wound by himself. She never should have sent him home without anything, not even a call to myself or another family member on file. Sure enough, not only was it extremely infected, necrotic, and now gaping, but i counted at least 4 stitches left behind. I had to take him back to the office for antibiotics and the rest of the stitches removed, but i also have to take him to see a wound… specialist because its so bad. He will have a crater in his leg, all because Datu couldnt do her job. How hard is it to remove stitches? Thank goodness she isnt a surgeon, who knows what instruments she would leave in people. I am astounded this doctor still has her license. Nothing against the practice in general, but STAY AWAY FROM DR. DATU!!!

I hate going to the doctor and hadn't had a physical in years. Dr. Datu saw me and was so straightforward and thorough, raised difficult issues without making me uncomfortable, covered everything, seemed entirely uncrushed, that I was very glad I went. I loved my prior PCP, who left the practice a few years ago, so I was apprehensive. But Datu was actually much better. Such a relief to finally have gone. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Datu is intelligent, personable and never makes me feel rushed. If I have to wait the office staff will tell me about the delay. Her support staff are very kind and supportive as well. I would give her 5 stars if I could! She exemplifies a wonderful blend of skill and bedside manor that I have not encountered often in medicine, especially with many male MD's. Highly recommended!

She's professional, yet warm and friendly. I feel she takes the time to know me and my medical issues very well. In all, I'm very pleased to have chosen her as my primary care physician.
