Dr. Juan Jose Alzate

My mom was referred to him, the reason for the appointment was for him to review her condition and advise on what best course of action to take, either extract her wisdom tooth or clip her gums or remove part of her cheek from the inside as she has unique, serious condition. Dr. Alzate walked in dressed like he had just gotten off his Harley Davidson (or maybe he was in a hurry to take off on one), he didn't even look at the paperwork, just asked my mom to open her mouth, spent 2 seconds looking at her mouth and said, "Ok, we'll setup an appointment to extract your tooth" and started walking out when I stopped him, telling him why we were there. He then came back, skimmed through the paperwork and looked at her mouth again. One of his techs, reviewed the paperwork further and noticed a medication my mom was on that can lead to very dangerous consequences. Then Dr. Alzate, dismissed discussing any other options because, his words, "we don't do any of that here," which might… be true, but we were told we were going to see him to discuss all possible options, but I won't fault him for this. After explaining to us the possible consequences, he left the room. The tech stayed behind and she was a lot more helpful than Dr. Alzate and I could tell she did worry and care about my mom's situation. I thank her for that. She left the room to get us some paperwork and we had one more question for Dr. Alzate after talking to his tech. We asked if we could see him very quick again and I heard him say, "no, I already talked to them." Overall, we were very disappointed with Dr. Alzate, he was very condescending and arrogant. I cannot speak on whether he's a good oral surgeon because we did not allow my mom to get work done there based on our interactions with him, but I believe a good surgeon would see for his patients well-being over having a fatter wallet.

Different dentist everytime you go. They don't care about the patient the just care about the money.

Takes advantage of senior citizens and people by overcharging them. Allows his staff to mislead you and tell you all of the procedures needed from start to finish will cost this much and when you come back like they scheduled to finish they charge $2000 more. Staff is rude. Was told oh everyone knows you complained when told you had to pay $2000 more dollars where is the confidentiality? Leaves you with work not completed unless you are willing to pay more. Example went in was quoted about work for extractions and things needed after. When I went in for app to have dental work started and finished only did half wanted to charge more to finish so now there is holes in mouth, pain and Incompleted work with gaps left between gum line and a partial. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I hope the board of density investigates him, Hispanic chamber of commerce and all the other groups he is using to promote his dental business by calling and questioning his past patients with dissatisfied experiences. This… dentist is using your business name and giving you a bad representation of whom you recommend and Deem as good dentist.

I was told by Dr.Alzate I needed a scaling of my teeth. Iwaited almost an hour to get an estimate of cost. I finally went to front desk and told office assist. that the procedure estimater had not talked to me yet. I told her since I had been in the office over 2 hours to e-mail me the estimate. I waited 2 days but no reply was received. I called the office twice in last week and asked for a verbal estimate. I never received a reply. I am going to call my dental insurance co. and complain to them about the situation.

Had a bad experience there I got done telling the doctor I havent been to a dentist for awhile and had 2 pregnancy and that I have no calcium in my teeth do to the fact I was pregnant twice he checked them then asked if I did Meth when I just got done telling him I havent seen the dentist In awhile and my babies sucked out all my calcium it was uncalled for!!!!! He needs to listen to his patients more..... and he said I needed 7 root canals yeah right I went to anotjer dentist and only got 1!!!!!!!!!
