Dr. Juan Paolo Borja, DO

I was beyond impressed with my experience at Hallandale Medical Center. I was blown away by how helpful and kind Maria Victoria and the front desk lady were. I have been always afraid of needles, and I did not feel a thing with Susan, the very nice lady who drew my blood. My appointment ran on time, Dr. Borja was really knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment! Never felt rushed. Doc listened and addressed all my concerns. The best experience I've ever had with a physician. I would highly recommend this medical group!

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Borja and I had an excellent experience. He answered my questions and explained in detail my concerns and diagnosis. The waiting room was full of patients and it seems that he was the only doctor working, the waiting time was a little long (25 minutes) however, I felt it was worth it.

Shows genuine concern. Gets to the point and stays on topic. Listens carefully, responds appropriately.

Dr. Borja is the worst so-called doctor that I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I went to him a couple of times and he never gives me any answers. He does not seem to care at all about his patients. He always seems ready to bolt. He does not have answers or he doesn't care enough to give any. He also takes forever to refill medications. I have medications that I need and he makes me wait forever. I call every day and his staff says they will get the script to him and call me back but nobody ever calls back. After a week, I drove to the office and was told that my script was still not ready. Whether it got to the doctor or not, I do not know. So again, I spent a week calling them and getting no help. Then my husband had an appointment with him and I went in there and I asked Borja about my script and he said he had it but he had just not "gotten to it yet" and would get to it when he got to it. I told him how important it was for me to get my medication on time and he could not… seem to care any less. He said he would get to it when he had time. I had to basically beg him to write me a script, which takes a few seconds to do and which I had already waited over 2 weeks to get. He finally did. Now my husband is waiting for his blood pressure medication and the problem is the same with him. His blood pressure is through the roof and the doctors and staff there do not seem to care at all. Nobody there cares. I would strongly recommend you go elsewhere if you want a doctor who cares about your needs and will give you the time of day because this one definitely will not.

I had high hopes for this doctor after reading other reviews, however I was severely let down. Dr. Borja himself was quite short with me as in at no point during my time with him was I able to get a complete thought out without being interrupted. I left without even being able to discuss some items with him because he was literally inching towards the door. I doubt that I even spent 15 minutes with him for a new patient visit. Additionally, I was asked to arrive 30 minutes early to complete paperwork, which I did. I was then taken back (10 minutes late from my appointment time) by a student who absolutely REEKED of cigarette smoke and proceeded to ask me all of the questions that I had come in early to write on the paperwork. No one ever even looked at that paperwork that I saw! I spent another 20 minutes sitting there waiting for her to key everything in the computer. I wound up walking in their doors at 1:50 and back out again at 3:40. . . .with zero answers. Won't be… going back.

This physician really cares. Spent a lot of time with me to understand my extensive background. Very thorough and knowledgeable.
