A 27-year veteran in the field of dentistry, Dr. Cabanillas never stops pursuing perfection. After graduating from New York University with a degree of Doctor in Dental Surgery, he completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center where he received extensive training in Oral Surgery, Periodontal Therapy, and Reconstructive Dentistry. He also completed a Prosthodontics program from Harvard University/VA Hospital in Boston, MA where he received the first honorary mention in the 22 years of existence of this combined program. He was also the Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida from 1998-2005. Dr. Cabanillas looks forward to taking on difficult cases and challenging himself in the pursuit of perfection. His drive in the field of dentistry is the ability to change people's lives. Throughout the years he has been able to help his patients restore their smiles, reduce oral pain and improve their self-esteem, not to mention save the lives of three …patients by early diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer. Dr. Cabanillas is also an active member of the American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration. When he is not perfecting smiles, he likes to read, scuba dive, play sports and spend time with his family, and hopefully one day be able to spoil his grandchildren.

I am beyond scared of doctors and have been my whole life even though I actively skydive, kitesurf and partake in other extreme sports. This doctor changed my life, not only with the excellent work he provided but how he helped me mentally get through it. I never thought I could be happy or even ok with going to the dentist until I met this doctor, I could not be any happier.

Dr. Cabanillas is hands down the best. I’ve never met a man so passionate about not only work, but passionate about his patients. He takes the time to explain exactly what he’s doing and keeps your best interests in mind, keeping you at ease from start to finish. Not for a second did I experience any type of pain. Juan is truly the best! I went to the Dental Lounge and had a great experience. Juan was very efficient and communicative. He is also funny and kind which made it all go by faster and made it actually fun to be at the dentist! He is amazing.

Met with Dr. Cabanillas at The Dental Lounge in Pompano Beach and this was hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Not only was he precise, so things were done quickly and efficiently, but he’s funny and kind as well. Amazing dentist.
