Dr. Jud M Stern, MD

He is the worst. I am a fellow provider and the two times I have encountered him as a family member to a patient was horrible. The first time was in the ER with my husband. Long story short my husband was having a stroke and he did not think so because he was only thirty-six years old. What else would cause a sudden onset of being unable to speak and right arm weakness. He did not even do an exam. I called the neurosurgeon myself to come and see him and he went up to Dr. Stern and asked what are you doing for this stroke. Needless to say Dr. Stern was mad at me for questioning his judgement. We called a lawyer after my husband was on the mend. The only reason they did not take the case was that after a year of intense therapy my husband regained his ability to speak and they felt a jury would not award enough money to make it worth their time. The second time was when my father had chest pressure. Of he was taken to the ER. Once again Dr. Stern felt he was not having a heart… attack. I called the cardiologist myself. He came down and saw him and later that day he was having a stent placed for blockage that was causing a heart attack. He should have his medical license revoked. Who knows what else he has missed.

Discharged my 72 year old mother from the Rome ER after falling down the stairs, fracturing both her tibia and fibula, and dislocating the ankle. He reduced the dislocation, splinted her, gave her a script for 3 days pain meds, no appointment to see the surgeon for a week, a wheelchair prescription, and told us to call the fire department when we got home and they would come lift her into the house (up the stairs). Then we went home. Fire dept never even answered our calls. My brother and I carefully lifted her up the steps, sitting and laying her down on the concrete each step of the way. Medicare refused to provide her a wheelchair because “Dr” Stern documented in his notes that she had a “normal gait” in the ER. If I could share the picture of her leg here, you would understand. 2 days worth of calling and calling and eventually had to pay out of pocket for her equipment because he was “too busy” to fix the documentation . I’ve been an RN for 26 years and I assure you, I know the… difference between being busy and being negligent and indifferent. I begged for your assistance for 2 solid days. We promised my mother she will never step foot in a nursing home. We will pay for every single bit of what she needs, but shame on you for being this kind of practitioner and leaving us to struggle and fight just to keep her safe and comfortable. 99% of our experience in the ER at Rome was phenomenal. Every single nurse, tech, transport, RT, etc were exceptional. Then the discharge happened and everything fell to pieces. It would have taken you 5 minutes to fix what we fought 2 days to accomplish. I am appalled that Rome hospital allows you to practice. I would never show a patient and family such little regard for their needs and comfort/safety. I am a daughter, a nurse, a patient advocate, and a mother. I’ve spent my life caring for people. Not all family have the support and resources that we do. As soon as we get my mom through this crisis, I assure you that you will become very familiar with my name. It might not make any difference at all, but I’m going to do everything in my power to call attention to what we experienced so that maybe someone else won’t have to. It’s negligent and deplorable.

Complete disregard for patient symptoms and description of ailments. Incompetent and lazy. Time wasting drain on the health system and embarrassment to other caregivers. Remove this clown immediately…. UNREAL.

If I could rate zero stars I would. He treats you like a drug addict. Flat out told me "theres no reason you should be in pain", refused to discuss my test results with me, tried to discharge me without speaking about my X-Ray and still treated me like a druggie after I told him I don't want pain pills I want answers. Several others close to me have been treated the same way by him. Nurses at the E.R. in Rome (where he works) even say how bad of a doctor he is. SAD.

Saw my 8 month old in the ER miss read a test that could have had horrible consequences had another Dr not looked at it after he discharged us. Barely spoke to us or examined my son in the right hours we were there. Left the room with hardly speaking to us. We assumed he was walking out to grab something and coming back in and he never did. The nurse told us we were being discharged with the same symptoms we came in with I expressed I did not feel we should be leaving and asked to speak to the Dr. again. He came back in and was so rude to me. I told him my son is still in pain. He said tests were normal and he couldn't admit us because his tests were normal (even though we found out later they weren't) and he couldn't us hanging out in the ER all day. Thank God for the Dr that came on staff after he left in the morning and checked our reports. If I could give zero stars on here I would have. This is not a physician or even a decent human being and should not be allowed to care for… anyone anywhere.

. I was advised by my specialist to seek care at the ER due to his unablibly to see me right away so I did, I got stuck with Dr. Stern. He was horrible to me, treated me badly and didn't have the patience to want to listen why I was there. I left the hospital crying and uhmilated . Worse doctor ever.....

Horrible doctor!!! Saw in urgent care, did not explain anything to us, never asked if we had questions, left the room and never gave us a change to ask questions. Dr. Stern should not have ever been given a license to practice!!!!!!!

Absolute horrendous, uneducated, useless excuse for a dr!!!
