Dr. Judith H Blitman, MD

I wish that I had seen the recent reviews that describe dementia. I am a neuropsychologist.. I found Dr Blitman, to be disoriented, as to date and day in telephone conversations that I had with her. When we spoke again, she consistently asked me the same questions over and over, having forgotten what we had already discussed. I decided to keep our appointment, which we had confirmed. However when I arrived, she was not in her office and she did not answer either of the 2 telephone numbers she had provided. She did not follow up to apologize or to explain herself. I have grave concerns about her cognitive functioning. ZERO stars

Absolutely nasty angry woman who needs to be hospitalized and sued for harming patients.

I've been seeing Judy for nearly 10 years and in the early years when I needed to pour my guts out she was splendid in her simple, practical response and she got my thru some tough times. Years later now, I see her to chat about a wide variety of things (sometimes me) and she is a smart, funny brilliant raconteur. For you weenies who I need hand holding and trowels of empathy applied to your tender psyches....she ain't for you. She is what I've read here....terse... impatient with bad behavior and direct with a real world non- therapeutic approach which is clearly not for everyone. Get over it and find another of one of the tens of thousands of therapists on the UWS !!!!!!

A disgrace to the profession. told me to be grateful that I had a husband despite knowing his abusive nature and called me a horrible mother for wanting to end my toxic marriage. I'm not sure why she chose this field

I started seeing Dr. Blitman after a hospitalization for medication management and therapy. Dr. Blitman did not have a helpful therapeutic approach and often repeated herself over and over, while forgetting things I had told her just 10 minutes prior. She continued to forget things I had been telling her session to session (about 2 weeks apart). She also encouraged me to send my business clients to her for treatment. I started seeing a clinical psychologist in addition to Dr. Blitman. When Dr. Blitman found out, she encouraged me not to see another therapist. I therefore had to tell her that I was no longer seeing the other therapist in order for her to continue treating me. After a few months, when my insurance had changed from Aetna to United Healthcare, she informed me that she was having trouble with my insurance company and that they were not paying her. I told her I could give her a number that she could call to aid with her claims, but she refused to take the number. Dr. Blitman… continued to see me for a few months. One day, she called me and left me an angry voicemail telling me that she was "disturbed" by how I was handling my health insurance situation with her not getting paid. Instead of asking me for help or taking the number I had offered her, she threatened to file a formal complaint about me if I did not pay her all that she was owed by the insurance company. I called United Healthcare and got it sorted out in 10 minutes. I proceeded to end my healthcare relationship with Dr. Blitman immediately.

don't waste you time/money/hopes... she is just cruel and very abrasive.. it's clear she's only in this for the money.

I called to consider becoming a patient, and left a voice message - repeating my name and my phone number twice, as her message requested. And when she called back, she led with "you really should have said your phone number twice and spoken slower. What can I do for you?" Seriously? I did try to speak clearly, and I did repeat my number twice, and you successfully reached me! Leading with berating and critique is so disrespectful in the vulnerable initial conversations that is seeking help. Definitely not going to work with her.

Condescending, rude, ill-tempered. She was inconvenienced by the slightest request for help with prescriptions that needed prior authorization. Then she overprescribed a medication because it was more convenient for HER. What legitimate doctor DOES that?? Her office is filthy and her workspace is cluttered. She couldn't even find her prescription pad. Never again.

Dr. Blitman has been perfect for me. She is "old school" which I understand and appreciate.
