Dr. Judith Bluvstein, MD

Dr. Bluvstein is a brilliant doctor with an incredible bedside manner. She is, bar none, the most wonderful physician I have ever met. She truly listens, cares about details, takes her time, and goes out of her way to make sure the plan is agreed upon and understood. She has helped my daughter, and our entire family, get through very confusing and difficult times, with honesty, perseverance, and unparalleled competence. We have traveled hours when there are plenty of doctors nearby, as she is the only epileptologist we trust to make decisions for our daughter. As a physician myself, I can even further appreciate the time (on off hours, too!) she spends treating each patient as if he or she is her own child. She is genuine, and truly cares. She stays the most up to date on new research on recommendations, and is always interested in learning about new evidence and articles. We are so grateful to have found this outstanding physician, and would follow her to any practice without… hesitation.

After receiving our son’s devasting diagnosis at 7 months old, we entered the office of Dr. Bluvstein. She was our second opinion. We were scared, confused and desperate at that point. Dr. Bluvstein was exactly what we needed, she took charge when we couldn’t and became our voice to care for our son. I can’t say enough about her. She advocated, educated and generally cared for us. There was never an questioned unanswered or a concern ignored. She went above and beyond to assure that our son was receiving what he needed. We will forever be grateful to have her in our life.

She thinks she knows better, whatever she said made no sense didn't describe my child at all instead went on to talk about my eye"issue" that has nothing to do with my child. RUDE

Dr. Bluvstein came highly recommended to us by a mother whose child had been diagnosed with infantile spasms. She described her as being very bright, attentive and responsive to her questions and concerns—all of which we have found to be true, first hand. As a mother of an infant diagnosed with infantile spasms, I can confidently say that Dr. Bluvstein is an outstanding physician! She has always compassionately listened to our concerns, discussed our options with us and backed up her recommendations with the latest findings in the medical literature and her years of experience. Under her care, we feel like our daughters health is her priority and we are forever grateful. We highly recommend her!

My son was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms back in 2009 . We knew nothing about this catastrophic seizure disorder and were referred to NYU Epilepsy Center . We were blessed to see Dr. Bluvstein . She took extreme care of him and worked extremely close with him where time is of the essence . She is extremely smart , very professional, and beyond caring . I call her my miracle worker and would recommend her to everyone .

By the time we had gotten to Dr. Bluvstein, we had run out of options for our son. Out of all the specialists across the country, there are currently only three who anywhere near her in competency, caring and passion for her field. One of them is Dr. Orrin Devinsky, who is Director of Comprehensive Epilepsy at NYU, the other is Dr. Ralph Northam, who was my son's neurologist in Virginia and is currently the Governor of Virginia, and Dr. Selby Oberton who is now at Baylor St. Luke's in Houston, TX. As you can see, we have traveled far and wide to find help for our son, and Dr. Bluvstein was more than willing to not only accept us into her care, but to treat my child as more than just a case study. She spoke directly to him, not over him as so many other doctors had. She also included the whole family when it came to my son's visits and care plans because she understands that family values factor into a persons health and well being as well. We often traveled over 400 miles one way… to see her at NYU and were always greeted with a smile and promptly taken care of at her office as well as at NYU no matter how busy they were. If you are searching for a Child Neurologist and are about to give up hope, please , call Dr Bluvstein's office. She does not give up, and she will not let you down. I only wish there was an option to give her 10 stars, because she deserves it.

The most horrible doctor we have ever seen. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this incompetent doctor! I would not trust her with anything! Worst mistake we ever made was to go see this doctor. Please avoid

As a nervous father, I probably spend more time on the internet researching problems than I should. However, Dr. Bluvstein is very patient and is willing to take the time to answer questions and share her clinical expertise. She is also extremely knowledgeable and that is very comforting. And isn't that what we need doctors for? The only negative is that parts of the center are still in bad shape from some Hurricane Sandy flooding.

My son has autism & started having seizures several years ago. We went to see several Neurologist in the tri state area & none could tell us what was happening. Dr. Bluvstein immediatly had my son admitted & made sure the hospital made special accomodations since she knew how difficult it can be for a child with autism. After trying several medications Dr. Bluvstein found the right medication that stopped his seizures. He hasnt had a seizure in 2 years !!! Dr. Bluvestein is the best!

My daughter had seizures since she was little and we went to several doctors. However once we met Dr. Bluvstein we knew that she was the one for us. Really carrying, pationate about her job and treating every patient as it was her own child. She went above and beyond her duties for us- made personal calls to other doctors for surgical opinion, conferenced our case several times and gave us invaluable advice on 2nd opinions for my daughter's surgery. It's because of her that my daughter is doing so well and is hopefully free from seizures for the rest of her life. She returned 4-5 emails a day from me, made countless phone callas and follow ups, spoke to other professionals and made herself available on her vacation and weekends. I can't thank her enough- she is a true professional and I forever grateful for what she did. Moreover I met other moms at NYU medical center during the EEG monitoring who are her patients and they had exactly the same experience as we did. Dot… know when she sleeps or eats because all she does she works and treats her patients. Thank you very much Dr. Bluvstein- may you give a ray of hope to more patients in the future!
