Dr. Judith Annette Garcia, MD

We live 45min away and left an hour early to get to our appointment with our 6 month old for her shots and check up. We got stuck on I-94 just north of Chicago between Willow and Dundee exits. If anyone knows this stretch, it's about 2.5mi with no exits in between. There was a huge accident, no movement whatsoever, to the point that you couldn't even use the emergency lane. We called the office to notify them we may be running late. They told us that if we were more than 10min late, we should not bother showing up. We convinced them that we would try to make it and told them they could check the news to see there was a really bad accident (not like we would make this up, when you can easily double check). We called back 5min later to let them know we were able to get off the next available exit and trying to take the back roads to make it, but would still be 10-15min late. The woman we spoke to assured us that they would take us. Sure enough, as we pull in the parking lot… exactly 15min late, we get a call saying the doctor would not accept us. Supposedly they spoke to Dr Garcia and told us we can reschedule the appointment. Needless to say, we live an hour away. It's not easy for us to just reschedule, as both my wife and I work and can only make it on the weekends to begin with. Let's not forget that it's ok to sit in a doctor's office up to an hour waiting, without any prior notice to either doctor running late or a huge influx of patients, but when you proactively notify the office that you are running late, to no fault of your own and tell them you are willing to wait indefinitely, if need be, we are still denied being seen that day. This is not about us, our pride or taking a stand. This is about a 6 month old who was due for her shots and checkup. We had some important questions and topics to discuss this time around, which we never got to do. Never again will we step foot in this office. If you live in the area and don't have to worry about the commute, than i suppose this is a non-issue. If you can only make it on the weekends and have a longer commute, don't bother and find a closer doctor. Receptionists are rude and seems like the office only cares about a high turnover of patients. If I could give no stars, I would!
