She is fantastic, and right on.

Complete misdiagnosis. Presented with rash on hands, arms and feet, red swollen tonsils, white abcesses in mouth. Nurse took culture of throat, came back negative for strep. no fever at the time of appointment, but reported a 102-103 fever for 3 days preceding the appt. Dr. came into the room, diagnosed as scabies, prescribed topical permethrin. Pain from blisters on hands, feet and arms, swollen tongue continued. Called office, did not receive call back. Later learned that I had been exposed to HFMD 4 days prior to onset of fever and sore throat. During appt, Dr had already decided that the diagnosis was scabies. She did not do a visual examination of inside of mouth and tongue. If she had, she would have been able to make correct diagnosis. She appeared very concerned that she would contract the scabies...and therefore was in the exam room for a total of 30 seconds if not less.
