One single toy in the office of a pediatric dentist? My grandchild was sev erely traumatized by her visit to Dr PL. She went for an incisor extraction due to an abcess. This pediatric specialist missed the nerve with her lidocaine injection (or whatever it was) and performed the extraction without checking with the child to make sure she was numb. In addition she attempted to seal her teeth without explaining the procedure beforehand, so that the child was terrified and screaming. Despite this, the Dr. continued to work in her mouth, telling her to be quiet and attempting to restrain her. Right out of the dark ages. Her mother and I finally terminated this horror, but we did not know that the anesthetic had not worked, so we still permitted the extraction. Many regrets; we will never see this dentist again. She made no visible effort to connect with this child either before or after the "treatment".

Clearly Dr Pedro-Lim does not know her practice. Out of the 2 visists I made for my son, she wasn't able to do anything!! First visit was because my son had broke his permanent front tooth. I brought him in to get a crown, which she told me that his tooth was severely infected and needed a root canal. Fine, but they do not do root canals in her office. She told me, in her words "Take him to get a root canal ASAP. Once you have that completed bring him back for a crown. YOUR isurance covers crowns that are resin or metal. Porcelain is not covered by YOUR insurance and is expensive, expect to pay about $1000 if you choose that option" Fine, I took my son to another dentist to get his root canal. Once completed I called Dr Pedro-Lim's office to schedule the crown. The receptionist, who was very friendly, asked what the apointment was for. I told her for a crown. She asked which type as some require a 30 minute appointment and some a 45 minute appointment. I told her Judy… hadn't specified either or, so she slotted me for a 45 minute appointment for a crown. The day of, I took my son in. The nurse came to get me from the waiting room as Dr Judy Pedro Lim wanted to talk with me. I went back where she showed me my son's x-ray, inquired about where I had his root canal, said they did an excellent job and then told me she doesn't do crowns on permanent teeth!!! I asked why then, did she tell me to bring him back and even explained the types of crowns she could do. She told me it ws for her to "check' the tooth. That I misunderstood, that there was a miscomunication. I let her know I did not misunderstand, that there was no miscommunication and I told her exactly what she told me at the first visit. Plus, why would I take him int o get the tooth "checked" when the Dr who performed the root canal didn't require a follow up for a year!! She became upset. When I told her she had wasted my time and my son's, as I had to pull him out of school for the appointment, she said she would fill his cavity so it wouldn't be a waste. I would have never let her near him, she was visibly angry that I had told her she wasted my time. I would never reccomend her for any type of real dental work, which it seems she can't do anyways!!! Maybe she might be ok with teeth cleaning, but I'll never know because her attitude was all but professional.
