Dr. Julia Chitty Kavanagh, MD

I had an issue I saw her for and requested help for, for at least 6 mos., and all I got was "Make another appointment." That's enough. I had to go elsewhere

I usually prefer doctors closer to my age (I’m still in my early 20s) because i want them to be relatable and up to date on the newest medicine. I have a complicated medical regimen and she walked me through all of my options of treatment and even gave me information about newer medications that are improved versions of the ones I already have. She has given me a new outlook on the potential for a simpler and more effective treatment. Also loved that the greenwood location is so close to where i work in the tech center

I was looking forward to changing Dr. Kavanagh to my Primary Care Dr. Her office is convenient for me, I had read mostly favorable reviews, the office staff seemed nice, and she portrayed herself as the type of dr I was looking for. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I was a new patient, she barely spent 15-20 'minutes with me, was constantly looking at the computer screen, seemed irritated if I interrupted her to ask a question. Even though I said, more than once, that I did not want ANY vaccines, she ordered them. I am a healthy, active 66yr. I was hoping to find an ally. Within 5 minutes of meeting me she wrote me a prescription for Xanax with 5 refills. I had mentioned I wanted to TALK to her about sleep issues. "Don't worry about the addictive potential" she said, "We'll wean you off after we work on your sleep issues." WHAT??!!!!!???? I came home that day, threw away the prescription, and happily rode the bus to Boulder to go back to my PCP that actually listens,… and cares about me. I would NEVER go back there, and even hesitated writing this review.

I had some tests done and the office took over a month to get results to me. No one in the office would take responsibility for the delay. I’ve never seen a doctor or medical office care so little about patients.

She always listens to my concerns and tries to help me come up with a plan. She takes time to listen, and doesn't try to rush out of the room

Took tests while doing genealogical exam that I did not ask for nor know about. It was never discussed. No reason to but she decide for her own self for unknown reason and I found out because I received an email that my health connection had been updated or changed and I could view it . Tests results available. But i did not do any tests . Was decided for me and without my knownledge . When i came in for cramps and abdominal pain. NEVER checkd me for that reason. I came in for or awithout my permission or ever discussing it.

I have multiple chronic illnesses and had some new issues during the last two years. She is thorough and refers to other specialties as needed. She has called me at home several times to see how i was doing, once even on a Sunday afternoon. I am confident in her ability to coordinate my overall care.

I would recommend Dr. Kavanaugh to anyone...she is kind, attentive and is genuinely concerned with patient's care.
