I was not impressed with my daughter's care under Dr. Simmons at Children's Mercy. She appeared to disagree with the board certified specialist who diagnosed our daughter before our child's hospital admission...but failed to provide any alternate diagnosis that made any more sense. She would mention treating our daughter's condition with one medicine or another but never explained what condition she was hoping to treat or why the medicine may or may not be helpful. In her defense, I think she was at the mercy of another specialist better equipped to deal with our daughter's illness (with whom she was consulting). This second specialist never bothered to examine or daughter and that's not Dr. Simmons' fault. It was still very frustrating to have questions and concerns go unanswered.
