Dr. Julie Rae Brandies, MD

DR WAS VERY SHORT AT 1ST BUT THOUGHT I WOULD TRY ANYWAY. I HAVE BEEN IN CRONIC PAIN FOR MANY YEARS BUT THE PAST 16 DAYS BEEN REALLY BAD. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TOLD THEM I DONT TAKE MEDS I DONT DRINK OR DO DRUGS ( KEEP IN MIND 3RD TIME CALLING WONDERING WHAT I SHOULD DO ? ) I TOLD THEM I UNDERSTAND NOW WHY PEOPLEE OVERDOSE WITH MEDS OFF THE STREET OR DIE FROM DRINKING BECAUSE WE GET NO HELP FROM THE MEDICAL FIELD. NEXT THING I KNEW I HAD A ROOM FULL OF POLICE AND A GUN POINTED AT MY FACE NEVER BEEN MORE HORRIFIED. I GET IT WE ARE ALL RACIALLY PROFILED AS BEING DRUG ADDICTS OR ALCOHOLICS .GREAT JOB DR JULIE NOW I HAVE MAJOR CHEST PAIN YOU TURNED BAD INTO WORSE.. PS.You people are not sympathetic towards ill people .

Very nice Dr. But found after 2-3 visits she doesn’t listen well. She wrote a prescription out and verified my pharmacy with me but still wound up sending it to a pharmacy i never used in my life. The whole time talking to her she rarely made eye contact because she was typing away on her computer taking notes . My 3rd visit was my last.

She stares into her computer the whole time, says very little (seems to know very little), and gets you out of the office as fast as possible. It doesn't seem to me that she should have a license to practice. It is a joke--a horror show.

Without a doubt I felt like I was the only patient when other doctors made me feel rushed or if I was inconveniencing them Dr. Brandies spent all the time necessary to listen to all of my areas of concern and address each & every one of them. I left the office with a list of action items to help with my concerns not just prescriptions.

Although I have said "thank you" to Dr. Brandies many times over the past 14 years, I want to say on National Doctors' Day (March 30) a "special thank you". She has been extremely professional, personable, and proficient in her examinations and diagnosis of my conditions. Over the past few months, I have had to visit her office several times. Each time, she has followed up with emails and/or phone calls concerning the outcomes of the visits/lab results. I appreciate the knowledge, care and empathy that she has shown to me for over a decade. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a competent and caring internist!

Dr. Brandies is a true professional. She is very well educated and practices medicine with compassion. I would absolutely recommend her.

What I like most about Dr. Brandies is that she doesn't jump to treating every ache & pain with medication. She works with a patient to find alternative methods, for example treatment chronic pain with acupuncture or stress with meditation/mindfulness exercise. She incorporates these Eastern medicine practice with those of Western medicine. I've yet to come across another doctor who does this. She is also warm, patient and responsive to my needs. She will continue to be my doctor as long as she is at NMPG.
