Dr. Julie Farrer, MD

I’d like to start off by saying thank you to Dr. Julie Farrer for all her help. Dr. Farrer is a great doctor and her staff is wonderful as well. If it wasn’t for their help I’d still be very sick! They truly do a great job!

I had the misfortune I’ve been under the care of Dr. for our for a brief time in the hospital prior to an emergency abdominal surgery.

This doctor performed a colonoscopy on me When I was hospitalized for a partial colon obstruction. She met with me for less than two minutes the night before the procedure and billed me for 50 minutes. I ended up having emergency abdominal surgery to remove a malignant tumor. The day after the surgery she came into my hospital room as I was tethered to the bed with IVs and tubes. I was in extreme pain.She wanted to know if I wanted another colonoscopy that day. I reminded her that I had just had surgery and no I did not want another colonoscopy. She said “oh yes that’s right, did you go home last night and come back, or did you stay the night?” This was incredibly disturbing… But even more disturbing was the fact that she actually charged me for coming into my room and asking me this ludicrous question. In addition to her cold demeanor and complete lack of awareness of the patient before her… She Did everything to pump up her charges. Some would call it fraud.

I was seen by this physician while I was in the hospital. She performed a colonoscopy. She overbilled for her “consultation“ with me prior to this procedure. 50 minutes for an actual less than five minutes spent with me and then stayed in my room and discussed other patients with another provider in front of me. I had emergency abdominal surgery The following day she came into my room and asked if I wanted another colonoscopy. She asked me this as I laid in the hospital bed with IVs and tubes tying me down to the bed. She also billed me for asking if I wanted another colonoscopy. A disgraceful fraudulent charge. I will be contacting the medical board about her but in the meantime… Be careful with this one!

Julie Farrer was quick to recommend a colonoscopy/endoscopy- like within 5 minutes of meeting me and hearing my symptoms. When the day of the procedure came she was indifferent to additional symptoms I was having. After the procedure I asked if anything was found and she was quick to say no and walk away. Which was weird because the RN discharging me told me that yes a polyp was found and sent off for biopsy. Weird cos Julie was the one who wanted to look up my butt so badly so I’m not sure why she was so rude about it after. Pretty much got no explanation why I was bleeding down there but she was quick to write me a prescription. A prescription which she didn’t even discuss how long I need to be taking or what it’s for. I’m sorry, but ask to be referred to another more empathetic GI who cares to find a resolution instead of just wanting to write you a prescription that they can ultimately bank off of

Unfortunately my expectations didn’t meet Dr performance. Do you want prescription? Ok, here it is. Do you want endoscopy done? Ok, will be done. 5 min and app was done. Not even checked gastrointestinal area. I don’t believe I received medical care during the appointment.

I presented as a patient in crisis. I submitted a written summary of my issues and efforts made to combat issues which she dismissed completely. She cut me off several times with her pre-programmed and curt sound bites. Maybe she's at the mercy of insurance companies, but she was a robot who, with minimal input from her patient, ordered pricey tests and made it clear she would not speak further until done. So I paid $200 to be dehumanized by this arrogant, smug woman going through the motions. She is the epitome of what I fear medicine is turning into. Doctors hate when patients go online, but they need to look at how they treat patients.

She was almost an hour late for the appointment. She answered her cell phone during the appointment. She couldn't have cared less about me or my issues. She didn't ask me any questions about my health. At the end she asked me if I wanted an endoscopy. Isn't it her job to determine if I need one??? Ridiculous. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with me.

Went to see her 3 times. Every time she wanted to know what I was there for. Told her the 2nd time I was there to get results of my CAT Scan. She said "What CAT scan?" I said the one that is sitting on your desk that your nurse put there yesterday! Still after going through all my results she says to me "Do you think you have Crohns Disease?" I said I had no idea and that's why I was there. The next thing out of her mouth was "Have you ever thought about MS?" Are you kidding me? Why would you ask me that? I'm not the doctor. I will never go back.
