Dr. Julie Elizabeth Geary, MD

I began my care at this practice with the Nurse Practitioner who I found to be thorough, attentive and overall very responsive. Throughout the course of my care here, I was transitioned to Dr. Geary. The experience that I had with her was fundamentally and monumentally different. The issues that I had were as follows: - No follow-up to phone calls; Dr Geary herself told me that she has too many patients to call her patients back with their concerns. - No attention to labs; at one point, I received a call back with my results 3+ weeks after they were drawn. Luckily, I was able to access a patient portal myself and knew the results were in the normal range - Differing in opinion on care; the Nurse Practitioner (in her practice) had given me one indication of the continuation of my care, Dr Geary had a different opinion. When you are operating under the same practice and providing care for the same patient, the messaging to that patient on their care should be consistent -… Lack of bedside manner; she never treated me like a person, but rather a number in her rolodex. - Looking for a paycheck; in one of my calls to Dr Geary, I was asking a yes or no question. She never called me back and at our next visit her quote was: 'I will not practice medicine over the phone, if you would like to talk to me, make an appointment'. This was a simple yes or no response from a doctor that had been following my care. I do not think it would / should be required to physically come in, pay the $250 for the visit for her tell me yes or no. Since my care at this practice, I have since transferred to a practice in Boston proper with a wonderful doctor. She is responsive within 12 hours, she responds on a patient portal, and does not require me to physically come into the office with each blood draw. She reads my results online and provides her recommendation and I visit her every three months. Perfect bedside manner, genuinely cares about her patients, and is looking to provide a well-rounded 1-1 type of care. I would never recommend Dr Geary to anyone seeking services around their endocrine issues. Please seek healthcare elsewhere.

She is great,very thorough and friendly.
