Raised in Florence, South Carolina, Dr. Norwood earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson University in South Carolina (cum laude graduate) and his medical degree from the University of South Carolina. He completed his internship and residency at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina, and a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology from 1999-2002 at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
Dr. Norwood, board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology has been involved in teaching, development and delivery of presentations.Dr. Norwood is actively involved in community service activities, serving as medical director for Camp Ukandu; member of Pathways palliative care program for The Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel; board member/medical advisory director for the Northwest Sarcoma …Foundation; and a member of the board of Legacy Foundations. He enjoys swimming, reading and sailing.

She is awful and just wants to pad her pockets the quickest way possible and let the parents deal with the aftermath! Don't go! Seek out a different treatment provider!

Worst experience my daughter ever went through

Saved our daughter's life after a year of long, hard work on everyone's part. Stick with Dr. O'Toole and the staff at this clinic - put in the hard work and hopefully it will work for you and your child. It was not an easy year, but my daughter has grown in ways I had not thought possible and was taught life lessons I was not able to or capable to teach her during her time at Kartini Clinic. Thank you!

This physician and her team saved my daughters life. I am an experienced RN and have high expectations of mine and my family's care. Dr OToole and her team did not disappoint. I wish we could clone her.

Our daughter is now 25 and we have not been to the clinic for 12 years. there was not an opportunity to review her at the time we were attending. I would like to say with a lot of experience behind us I wish we had never gone to her. The clinic is wrong on so many levels. With the health of your child , the time dealing with it and the amount of money spent, I would NOT go back to her clinic.

The philosophy behind the Kartini Clinic is Family based treatment which I think works on some level. But in the world we live in at least 50% of marriages end in divorce. Dr. O'Toole has no flexibility in her program for a divorced family. Dr. O'Toole talks down to parents, if you question her about something it will not go well for you, does not respond to her emails, which by the way have to be sent through a central email. Dr. O'Toole diagnoised my daughter incorrectly and also used the wrong set of labs and when this was pointed out to her she never apologized or acknowledged her mistake. I found my daughters Mileu therapist to be very unprofessional. Not only did she discuss former clients in front of current clients but also discussed some of the girls mothers in derogatory ways while the girls were present in the room. Unfortunately our experience at the Kartini Clinic was a nightmare and my family is still dealing with it. I would tell anyone considering the Kartini… Clinic to really explore your other options.
