Dr. Julie Martha Silverstein, MD

I had a wonderful experience with Dr silverstein, sorry if I wrote her name wrong, I was really scared of my diagnosis but she explained and really set my mind at ease and straight to the point what I needed to know, reading some of these comments it may seem like she is kinda of uncaring, but it's not that at all she is very serious and just focusing on what is going on and moving forward to a plan for your health needs step by step, and I appreciate that, I really did feel she was listening to what I was saying as well reviewing my lab results,mri,notes from previous doctors, physical exam,etc.. but everyone has their own experience, for me it was great! I'm looking for to going back.

I felt totally uncared for. She did not take the time to explain anything or develop a long-term plan. On top of that, she is not very personable. I would think being at a large academic hospital I would get better care, apparently not.

Terrible, closed minded. Apparently each hormone does one thing.

I have been seeing Dr. Silverstein for 6 years now. She is always courteous and knowledgable. She takes her time during visits. She makes personal calls to home to speak about treatments or labs. She even sends letters home with more information about the plan of care. Excellent and caring practitioner.

I had a pituitary tumor and visited Dr. Silverstein to confirm that it had gone away. Upon entering her office it was apparent she did not read my chart ahead of time. She had no idea about my history of a pituitary tumor or pituitary hormone problems. She claimed no one in the office prescribed T3 or armor thyroid yet my friend who sees another doctor in her office is prescribed T3. She said armor thyroid was unscientific. She refused to offer any sort of follow up scan on my pituitary tumor and told me my IGF-1 level in the 80s was normal and healthy. This doctor truly does not have the experience or patient listening skills to know anything beyond what one textbook taught her. Avoid at all costs. It was a huge waste of money and I felt I'd definitely get better care from my GP.
