Dr. Vasile is not only a skilled surgeon, but she is also a wonderful human being. Initially, I interviewed many and found a terrific breast surgeon. It was determined with her that I would be having a bilateral mastectomy and elected to have reconstruction using my own body tissue. Although there are many options for reconstruction, this seemed the best fit for me. I had only one obstacle. I had become very thin at the time. The stress of life and this new medical challenge had gotten to me, and I dropped weight rapidly. So, could I find a great reconstruction surgeon that could help me in this situation? That terrific breast surgeon suggested that I add Dr. Vasile to my list of reconstruction surgeons that I was interviewing. She had nothing but amazing compliments about her. Prior to selecting a specialist for my series of complicated surgeries, I met with eight reconstruction surgeons in order to find the perfect fit for my circumstances. During our initial consultation,… it became obvious to me that Dr. Vasile was by far the best fit for my medical team. Don’t let her petite stature and softspoken demeanor fool you. Dr. Vasile is a powerhouse of a surgeon. She is intelligent, a pioneer in her field, proficient at complex surgery, consistent, thorough and has a proven track record. However, she is not all business. Dr. Vasile is dedicated to her patients in every way. She is gifted at performing surgeries on individuals that are going through life-changing periods in their lives. In many cases, emotions are running high while we navigate through the process of mastectomies, reconstruction using our own body tissue and potential follow up surgeries or procedures associated with this. Dr. Vasile is kind, thoughtful, approachable, understanding, sensitive, relatable and available. It made my entire experience less stressful just knowing that I could reach out to Dr. Vasile at any time if issues arose post-surgery. Unlike other offices, you always communicate with her. You are not sent to another physician who is covering. It made a big difference for me considering I had multiple surgeries and preferred to attain my advice directly from Dr. Vasile if I had a question or concern. My experience was the best possible scenario I could have asked for. I will admit, although I never show certain emotions, I was nervous at every surgery I have undergone, except when Dr. Vasile has overseen the ER. I always have full confidence that everything will go perfectly when she is in charge. Breast reconstruction is a very personal matter. In my opinion it gets even more personal when you harvest tissue from other body locations to reconstruct. I have recommended Dr. Vasile to many friends, family members and acquaintances. I trust her completely and respect both her surgical abilities and bedside manner. If you are considering reconstruction, you must meet with her. You will not be disappointed!

Dr. Julie Vasile is an extraordinary surgeon and individual. In the first two-hour consultation, she explained multiple options, including fat transplants, describing the risks and benefits clearly. Even as a physician, after you hear “you have breast cancer,” it is like listening to adults talking on a Peanuts cartoon, muffled “wah-wah-wahs.” Whenever she spoke to me, however, I felt calm. Her kindness, compassion, and professionalism are remarkable. We have been through a lot together, and each step of the way, she was steady, confident, and had empathy like no other. She is not just a knowledgeable and skilled surgeon but also an artist in her reconstructions. She creates normal-looking breasts that feel warm and soft. As others have said, she is our guardian angel. Fat transplanting is not easy. But it is worth the commitment for the results. She is my angel, and always will be. I give her my strongest recommendation.

I just completed my tattooing of my breast reconstruction, and WOW, my breasts look and move so naturally. Dr. Vasile reconstructed my breasts after I had complications from a well established plastic surgeon that left me with dead tissue and large scars from open wounds. She used a TDAP flap that is like a latissimus dorsi flap, but without removal of the muscle. I need my arm strength for my job and I was not willing to sacrifice my back muscle. I am so glad I found her! No one seems to know that there are better options than the latissimus dorsi muscle flap. Other surgeons do not offer this flap. If you are suffering with complications or just want your breast reconstruction done right the FIRST time around, run to see Dr. Vasile. She is my angel. No one is offering what she does, and I called surgeons up and down the east coast. I thank God that I found her.

Excellent doctor!... skilled and compassionate, I'm so glad found Dr. Vasile in the process of getting surgery for breast cancer. When I learned I needed a mastectomy I was overwhelmed and anxious about choosing the right reconstruction method. From the moment I called Dr. Vasile's office and she personally picked up the phone to speak with me, I felt immediately reassured. Dr. Vasile is a surgeon and physician beyond compare. She is incredibly skilled, dedicated, meticulous, caring, responsive and accessible. In order to fit my surgery in so that I didn't have to wait weeks, she saw me in her office on weekends right before and after her scheduled trip. Her office staff are also amazing, they took care of all the details including advocating with my insurance. Dr. Vasile puts her all into her work. I had DIEP Flap reconstruction and only 6 weeks after my surgery I am doing great thanks to her!

Dr Vasile guided me through every aspect of my surgery with a warm and caring demeanor. She genuinly cares and completely set my mind at ease in the most trying of times. The staff at Dr Vasile's office, Liz and Tammy are knowledgable, welcoming and warm. Dr Vasile is an immensly talented surgeon and a special person with a genuine heart. No amount of words can express my appreciation and gratitude.

Dr. Vasile, goes out of her way to help you and is very easy to speak with. At the time of my mastectomy, I expressed that I wanted a DIEP Flap but I was told by my plastic surgeon that I only qualified for an implant. Unfortunately the doctor who performed my first surgery did not measure correctly which caused my implant to shift around. I was so uncomfortable that I decided to seek a second opinion at a different hospital, were I met Dr. Julie Vasile who assured me that I did qualify for a DIEP Flap. Within several months she performed the surgery and I cannot begin to express how much better I feel. I have recommended her to several people and will continue to do so.

Wonderful, most caring Doctor I have ever met. Anyone who needs a Plastic Surgeon need not look any further!
