Dr. June Huth Mello graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1988. She was the recipient of several prestigious awards during her professional training including the following: American College of Dentists Award, Pierre Fauchard Academy Undergraduate Certificate of Merit, American Academy of Radiology Award, Dentsply Student Clinician’s Award, Outstanding Scholar Award, Dean’s Leadership Award, as well as, induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Honorary Dental Fraternity).
Before joining First Choice Dental, Dr. Mello (formerly Dr. Bockenstedt) practiced in numerous dental settings. She has previously maintained her own solo private practice, provided dental care for other local dental offices, and treated the underserved populations of the Dane County Jail and Badger Prairie Health Care Center. Although Dr. Mello welcomes all ages and types of patients; she finds the elderly and …special needs/phobic patient population most gratifying to care for. Even the latter group can be served with comprehensive treatment to achieve healthy and vibrant smiles by using sedation dentistry. Dr. Mello has secured additional training in this area so that more patients can be comfortably treated. She strives to provide quality, state of the art, and ethically-driven dental care for all patients. Dr. Mello is a member of the American Dental Association which includes the Wisconsin Dental Association and Dane County Dental Society. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and DOCS (Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation).
When Dr. Mello is not practicing dentistry, she resides in Middleton with husband, Gerry, and six children from newborn to middle school. Family time is very important to Dr. Mello. She and her husband follow their children’s activities: soccer, basketball, volleyball, dance, school functions. She also enjoys quiet times just reading bedtime stories.
