Dr. Junzhe Xu

Diagnosed me with a condition that I don't even have and that subsequent providers have found no sign of. This lead to me not getting access to a PTSD treatment program for over a year, which was detrimental to my entire family. It also caused me to be mistreated by other staff due to stigma. She also answered a phone call in the middle of a session, one that was not work-related, without excusing herself from the room. She then put in my notes that I had left the session abruptly and had refused to speak. I had, but quietly as to not to disturb her call. The first time I met her, she entered my room without knocking with a team of people and - without introducing any of them - immediately suggested trying me on a medication that I am allergic to. I politely asked them to leave and not return before they had read my chart as the medication has been listed as an allergy from the start of my time with the VA. About 15 minutes after that is when the diagnosis was put into my chart (I had… to get my records to find this out). It took nearly two years to get the misdiagnosis of BPD off my records - and when I asked for a records amendment I was refused. My therapist that I have been working with for several years now had to put in a note of his own. It's irresponsible to diagnose someone who already has diagnoses that explain all their symptoms with a personality disorder - especially when you haven't been working with them long and is egregious to do when you haven't even spent five minutes with someone. Overall, she is rude and irresponsible. She should not be a psychiatrist, let alone working for the VA where most - if not all - patients have complex mental health histories.

Dr. Xu works at the Buffalo VA Hospital; and it has been some time since I have seen her. But, I remember Dr. XU and recommend her anytime. Dr. Suis extremely professional and courtious. Dr. Xue also treated my wife with much kindness. Thanks you Dr. Xu.
