This provider was extremely rude to me in the ED. No empathy, compassion, or understanding whatsoever. Makes me lose even more faith in the healthcare system.

Watch out for this crook if he is not in your network. He accepted payment from my insurance company. Which states that accepting that payment means he has settled and will not come after patient for any more money. He is greedy and coming after payment anyway. This type of greed is what makes people not trust doctors. Now I have to ask when I go to the ER at Mills Peninsula if the ER doctor is in my network or not. What kind of hospital hires a crook like this? Mills Peninsula in Burlingame does....

He lacks any empathy to be a good care provider. He was abrupt, curt and unsympathetic during my interactions with him in the ER. He should be required to take some compassion and patient care training.

I would just like to say thank you to Dr. Gatewood on behalf of my husband. This morning I was in the ER with my husband due to him fainting earlier in the evening. Though it had been a long wait (a couple of hours) until a doctor saw us, when Dr. Gatewood came in, he immediately knew what they diagnosis was and made us feel alot better about the symptoms. He was very cordial and talkative at such a late hour and that was appreciated. We need more doctors like him in this world:)
