Dr. Justin Houman is a board-certified urologist and fellowship-trained specialist in men's sexual and reproductive health. His practice is devoted to male infertility, varicoceles, chronic testicular pain, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, erectile dysfunction and sexual performance, Peyronie's disease, and testosterone management.
Men come to him for problems that often go unaddressed for years: a couple who has been trying to conceive without answers, a varicocele found on an ultrasound with no clear explanation of what to do about it, testicular pain dismissed as something to live with, a vasectomy decision that deserves more than a rushed conversation, or a reversal after a change in circumstances.
His practice is built around a level of specialized expertise that's uncommon in urology. Dr. Houman completed subspecialty fellowship training in male reproductive medicine and microsurgery, training held by fewer than 2% of urologists in the United States. He also serves as an …Assistant Professor of Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. That expertise anchors a practice recognized as a Center of Excellence in several areas of men's health, and it's part of why patients travel from across the country for care.
As a minimally invasive microsurgical surgeon, he specializes in:
Fertility and reproduction
Testicular and scrotal pain
Sexual function and hormones
Microsurgery is the through-line. Operating under high magnification allows him to preserve the arteries, lymphatics, and nerves that conventional technique can't reliably identify. That is what separates a varicocelectomy with a low recurrence rate from one without, a reversal that restores patency from one that doesn't, and a denervation that relieves pain from one that trades it for a new problem.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Houman serves as an Assistant Professor of Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, where he is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians. Through his teaching, mentorship, and surgical expertise, he helps shape the future of men's health care while advancing the field through education and innovation.
He believes that men's sexual and reproductive health is closely tied to overall well-being. Concerns in these areas are often early warning signs of broader health issues, including hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Addressing them early can protect a man's long-term health, not just resolve an immediate problem. Just as important, he believes these conversations should happen without embarrassment or judgment. His role is to listen carefully, explain clearly, and build a treatment plan that fits each patient's goals and life.
