I was scheduled for Trigger Finger surgery today with Dr Kistler. After numbing my hand, I was told we would be starting in approximately 25 to 30 minutes. In the mean time, the nurse had me change into a gown, etc. She then took my blood sugar reading and said it was really high. This has never been an issue with me, I've had diabetes for a long time and it doesn't really effect me as it does other people. That being said, the nurse left the room and was gone for a considerable amount of time. I knew something was up. Well, needless to say, the doctor came into the room and before he said a word, I said to him " I'll bet you're here to tell me you're not going to do the surgery ". He said that was correct and started to say it was because he was afraid I would get an infection,etc. I told him that I've had my body for 69 1/2 years and I Never get infections because I have an immune system. So now I have a numb hand,and still have trigger finger. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!!
