Dr. Justin Dexter Koen

I just want to say that Dr. Koen is absolutely the best dentist I have ever been to. I started going to him when his practice was off of Lake Austin Blvd near downtown Austin as it was 5 minutes from my office. When he moved to Buda, I stayed at his old practice with his old partner, huge mistake. I live in Leander and work in downtown Austin and Dr. Koen is worth the drive for his services. He has the best personality, is funny, and makes you feel at ease. His work is second to none and his staff are some of the best as well, you can tell that everyone is happy to be there and make your dental experience the best possible. I never write reviews, but felt I had to share what an amazing dentist and practice Main Street Dental is.

Dr. Koen has been a great dentist and I’m so glad our family found his practice. I especially like that he gives excellent preventative maintenance advice. My teeth have never been in better shape. Dr. Koen did a filling and a crown for me. It was quick and painless! He was very professional and answered all my questions thoroughly.

If you see Dr. Koen, expect to hear that you have an issue that needs immediate attention - probably a crown. Never mind that you have no pain or symptoms, he'll push whatever he can get your insurance to pay for regardless of medical necessity. Very disappointing

Patient beware. I was a patient of Dr. Koen's for many years. I had no complaints with the routine exams, and his hygienists are great. However, every visit there was pressure to get some elective work done - with dire warnings of what could happen if I didn't do some preventative maintenance. I had no pain and no issues, therefore wasn't inclined to spend the money. After years of this pressure, I gave in and agreed to the work - thinking I was being proactive and preventing future problems. Well, that was over a month ago and I have been in constant pain since then. I am now told that I need to see a specialist and have a root canal to solve the issue that didn't exist prior to this. I wasn't warned of this possibility verbally or in writing. Dr. Koen's response has been aloof and lacking any accountability. It's very disappointing and not at all the way a small town dentist should treat a patient of almost a decade.
