Dr. Justin Peng, MD

Dr. Peng was patient with me and took my concerns seriously. He had a technician take x-rays of the affected limbs, went over the results with me, and recommended a course of action. This occurred on my first visit. I see why he gets excellent reviews.

Dr. Peng is a rare combination--an expert in Rheumatology and a personable and kind person. When I came to him on referral from my primary care physician, I was in terrible pain--I could hardly function. Dr. Peng carefully diagnosed my problems and formulated a patient care plan. I have done my part, following his guidance on exercise and medications, and as a result I continue to be pain free and extremely happy. I couldn't be happier to be under his care.

The doctor seemed good. This review is about billing, not sure if that is on him but maybe he's complicit. I was there for a 45 min office visit (seeing doc for maybe 15-20 min of that time max). Had x-rays of my foot and hand. Received a bill after insurance of of $862! I had a similar visit with my foot doctor with x-rays (another specialist) and HIS BILL WAS $97.00. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark as they say. No reason that any office visit/consultation for any doctor should be that much for that amount of time. $862 for a couple of x-rays, blood pressure (free at CVS), and Dr. Peng examining my hand for 30 seconds. The office said they could set up a "payment plan" for me. Sure glad I don't have a serious problem and have to go there again. Good example of what is wrong with medicine in this country - PURE GREED. No recourse for me either. Filing a complaint with DC board of medicine.

Dr. Peng is a great doctor! He is so knowledgeable, takes a lot of time with patients and educates patients. On top of that he’s a very nice guy. He is the best doctor I have ever had. Great staff too!

I found Dr. Peng smart, responsive and empathic.

Everyone was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Dr. Peng took a lot of time to answer all my questions and address my concerns. He reviewed my x-rays with me and explained what kind of blood tests he was ordering and why. I did not have my primary doc refer me, but because of the way I have been feeling and my immediate family medical history, I chose to see ARA on my own. Dr. Peng listened and considered everything I said. He spent an unusually long amount of time with me, before, between and after my x-rays and blood work (in my opinion), and I didn't feel rushed or put-off. His nurse kept me informed the entire time, and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable when I did have to wait. Additionally, when later in the day I realized I forgot to tell him something, I called to leave a message. Instead they took my number and said Dr. Peng would return my call. He called back at or near the end of the business day, and took time, once again, to address my concerns.… I am really pleased with the care I received on my first visit.
