Dr. Justin Thomas Phillips, MD

Compared to Dr. Hardwick, Dr. Phillips appears completely devoid of interest in his patients. At my last visit, which was the first appointment I've had since Dr. Hardwick left, Dr. Phillips seemed distracted and not at all interested in developing a rapport with me; he was more interested in complaining about his workload. He was in and out within a few minutes, and my next appointment has been scheduled with an APRN. When I recently ran out of a a low-dose anti-anxiety medication Dr. Hardwick had prescribed, the office (after a weeklong delay) called to tell me I would have to get my primary care doctor to prescribe. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a new Parkinson's specialist!

You’ve heard the saying dont believe everything you read on the internet . Well you can believe this! I went to see Dr. Phillips for an internal tremor that I have had for 2 years that is a 24/7 issue. As soon as I mentioned internal tremor he totally dismissed me . I was in shock that as a neurologist he knew nothing about internal tremors since he deals mainly with Parkinson’s and the parkisinsons foundation in New York and all the Parkinson’s websites acknowledge this as a symptom of early onset Parkinson’s. Internal tremor is also associated with Ms , thyroid , and menopause among other things . He acted as if I was making the whole thing up . He tried to say I have a psychogenic disorder. I was clearly upset and in tears when I left and this doctor’s officer. He totally dismissed me and also ignored my symptoms of waking up like I’m losing a breath after sleeping and another doctors office said this could be sleep apnea . Go back to school Dr. Phillips and while your at it… learn compassion for your patients. Please avoid this doctor if you are seeking out a diagnosis. We wasted travel time and taking off work for nothing! I plan on mailing him everything I’ve found on the internet and blogs from other physicians about internal tremors. Why can’t a doctor just say I don’t have knowledge on this issue instead of diagnosing you with a mental condition because they have too much pride to admit they just don’t have the answers .

I have been a patient of Justin's for almost 3 years. Have always had great experience in his office. Always treated with respect. The assistants are always professional and very knowledgeable. I have a very rare brain disorder of which only 150 cases have ever been reported worldwide. This being said I'm his first and he says probably his only he will ever have with this disorder. Through the process from day one he has worked with me to tweak my prescriptions to get my symptoms in check. He is open to listen to what you think is working and what is not working and he will adjust accordingly. Is very knowledgeable very respectful and will listen to what you have to say. Before him I was shuffled around a few times and felt like I was just a file in someone's file cabinet. With him I actually feel like when I leave him and his team actually work 2 give me the best care possible. When I call and leave messages I am contacted in a timely fashion. Would highly recommend this office for… any one. I would also like to mention his assistant London is one of the nicest and most professional individuals I have dealt with thus far. She also seems to be more knowledgeable then a lot of assistants and doctors I have come in contact with as well. She is always in a great mood which means a lot. Most of us have pretty rough lives and seeing a smile and feeling like someone cares and treat you with respect goes a long way. When I come into the office it amazes me how the both of them remember small details about my situation and previous visits that sometimes I don't remember. Just let you know that you are not forgotten once you leave that office. Several times I have come in and she remembered details from previous visits and ask how things were that we talked about in the past both professionally and personally. There is a possibility of me moving back to Cincinnati where I'm from to be where my kids are currently living and if so I will definitely make the commute to see Justin instead of changing doctors.

My husband saw Dr PHILLIPS after encountering a Neurologist in Bardstown whom I would not allow to treat one of our pets! The nurse in this office was more knowledgeable by far than he was. Dr. PHILLIPS talked with us in depth about Alzheimer’s and my husband’s concern with it running in his family. He thoroughly did several tests and then referred him to a psychologist for further testing. We are very pleased with our experience with this Dr. and his office every time we have seen him.

We met with Dr Phillips recently for the first time and found him to be upbeat and thorough in his review. We were most pleased with how we were treated and the suggested follow up plan. Time spent in waiting room was limited and Dr Phillips took his time talking and explaining things to us. Very pleased with our visit.

He is rude. Dr. Phillips has a temper. He is frustrated easy and always believes he us right and everyone else is wrong. He has no compassion. He is not very smart in movement disorders. He rushes you out of his office and is mean and disrespectful.
