If you want the best of the best you just found him ! Dr Schaffer , Tammy , and the rest of the team are awesome. I drove 1 1/2 hrs and passed multiple hospitals to go to him and well worth it. Great care ,after care commitment , and having open heart surgery my scar even came out minimal comparably and I haven’t felt better in years.

Dr. Schaffer is absolutely the best. We hit it off right off the bat. I had open heart surgery 2 years ago with Dallas Medical City and when I found out that my valve had to be replaced again I told my previous heart surgeon that I was going to get a second opinion. I researched to find the best at the aortic root procedure and I found him in Dr. Schaffer. The team at Baylor Scott Heart Hospital are the absolute best. I was worried about the after surgery care because the previous time was horrible. My advice is to have Dr. Schaffer do your surgery the first time and hopefully you won’t have to do it a second time... 2 years later!

Very positive, caring surgeon. I was in the heart center for 13 days and he checked in every day. Tammy was also extremely helpful to my wife with making all the arrangements.

Dr Shaffer was an excellent doctor and his staff was excellent too. I got excellent care throughout everything. They explained everything to me that they were doing and made sure I understood everything. Now I have my life back and happy.

Dr. Schaffer is the best, as is his whole staff. As a pilot, I had been grounded by the FAA due to my leaking aorta and unable to work. Thanks to Dr. Schaffer, the FAA has since approved my return to flying. Like others have said, great doctor with a sense of humor that puts you at ease. Laid out the 3 options for me and explained the chances for success and the risk of each, which helped me decide. We both agreed we hoped to not see each other again at my last visit, LOL.

The best possible robotic bypass surgery anyone can get in this country. From beginning thru after surgery rehab he always kept me in the loop. Treated me like a special patient. He is surrounded by an all star staff too. I was very lucky to get Dr Schaffer for my heart surgery.
