Dr. Justin J Sherfey, DO

For five years I babied my left hip with arthritis. When it become too troublesome I sought to get it corrected with a hip replacement. Many friends said it would greatly improve my day to day life. An orthopedic doctor recommended that I consider an anterior procedure over a posterior procedure, as having fewer restrictions, less complications, and a quicker recovery. That doctor recommended seeing a surgeon that routinely performs the anterior method as having the best chance of a successful operation. That referral went to Dr. Justin Sherfey, with AVORS Medical Group. He maintained offices in Santa Clarita and Lancaster. His easy demeanor was reassuring, as he explained what would happen, and a timeline for recovery. His office scheduled a class through the Hospital (Providence - Holy Cross) that explained in greater detail what my wife and I could expect on the day of my surgery. He stopped by bedside pre-operation, to reassure, and answer any last minute questions we… might have. The operating room was a flurry of activity, and a drug induced blur. My return from post recovery to my room was quick. The medical support Providence provided, was a big factor in being released by late afternoon. With the help of a walker I was able to experience Central Park the day after my operation. On day three I graduated to a cane, on day 5, I was on my own. Every day since I’ve seen improvement. All of this I credit to Dr. Sherfey, his skills, and the anterior method he specializes in.

Very caring and understanding. Polite and tries conservative measures before anything else. Will always listen to all questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Sherfey to any family or friends.

Dr. Sherfey performed bilateral total knee replacement. I started having problems almost immediately, especially with the right knee. Another surgeon repaired my right knee and found that the patella button was undersized my 40% and also the polli was also undersized. This caused the patella not to track properly causing pain. The left knee has the same issue only not as severe.

Dr.Sherfey is a great surgeon and takes his time before suggesting sugery to make sure it is needed. always pleasant at each visit and explains the diagnosis. would recommend him to anyone.

I went to Dr. Sherfey for "carpal Tunnel" symptoms. He did not listen to all of my symptoms went straight for testing which I received a false positive on for both my hands. He decided I needed surgery. I went for my left hand and it has gotten worse. I tried to explain to Dr. Sherfey that I did NOT think it was carpal tunnel because I had other symptoms and he blew me off like I didn't know what I was talking about. When receiving a second opinion I was told that it is very rare to have bilateral carpal tunnel and it is most likely a pinched nerve. This is what it turned out to be. Needless to say if any Doctor tells you that you have bilateral carpal tunnel PLEASE get a SECOND opinion!!! I had unnecessary surgery and now have trouble using my hand that I do everything with. :(
