Dr. Justin Scott Sparkes, DO

I recently saw him and noted that when you ask a question he gets off track and doesn't really give you an answer. I never did get the referral I asked for. He is quick to want to prescribe rather than investigate. He seems to be a bit on the hyper side while interacting so he isn't a good listener. His exam was very sparse and while listening to my heart or was it my lungs, as he only did one of these, his phone rang and he answered it and talked while stethoscope was on my chest. No apology or anything for taking the call. Why he didn't step out of the room to answer if it TRULY was an emergency, is beyond me. But I felt like I was not important and I didn't like that feeling at all. He may be great for others but not a good fit for me.

Let me just say, the front staff and nurses are absolutely WONDERFUL and sweet as can be. They’re happy to answer any and all questions. The waiting room is clean, spacious, and the TVs aren’t turned up too loud. They even have a designated sitting area for people who have the flu so that others won’t be contaminated. Now on to Dr. Sparkes... I understand why he has so many patients who adore him, but if you don’t like being talked over and having your questions answered in a convoluted, overly “academic” way, he won’t be the doctor for you. I want to be clear when I say that he is NOT a bad doctor. I just believe his bedside manner - or lack thereof - is enough to turn some people (myself included) off. It really is just a matter of personal preference.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to see him. First appt he spent more time talking about himself than listening to me. 2 nd appt was more of a huge disappointment with no follow up care either. Very aggressive in his bedside manor. Stay away!

Excellent Doctor. Who really does care about you!

He won me over when I attended my husbands first appointment. My husband doesn't like doctors but he likes Dr. Sparkes. I immediately fired my old doc and hired Dr. Spakes. He explains everything, and he cares about you. His wife is an OB/GYN at the same facility and I go to her for annual checkups. I hope to stick with him for the rest of my life. As a primary care physician you can find none better.

a very down to earth physician. friends referred me to dr sparkes after I had been told to find an internal medicine dr for my concerns. dr sparkes explained in a way that made sense to me the steps he suggested to diagnosis my problem and then after explained in the same way options to treat it.

He spends enough time to figure out your problem. He doesn't rush or come off as pushy. He seems very caring and ensures you are at the top of your game.
