Dr. Justin Joaquin Vigil, MD

January 7, 2026 As a Senior, in my 60s, with Lifelong Intractable Chronic Pain from quite a few complicated medical conditions/diagnoses, including, Stage 4 Osteoarthritis, Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), numerous spine surgeries and procedures, broken femur surgically repaired, X-Lif titanium cage grafted into spine, plus others. I have been going to Dr. Vigil now for a few years. He is a very good pain mgmt physician (anesthesiologist). You will notice from the very first time meeting him that he listens to you attentively. Dr. Vigil is a very understanding and compassionate pain mgmt. physician. I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Vigil will NOT judge you. That's huge for me as many other physicians are judgmental. This is the second practice that I have followed Dr. Vigil to, as a patient. I just want to say, Vertex Pain Physicians in Ingram, TX is a fantastic place with the utmost professional, friendly and most importantly, RESPECTFUL staff whom all work with Dr. Vigil.… They do not judge people, as many pain pt's have experienced with other offices in the past. This office is different in that they are just down to earth, nice and caring humans that truly want to help manage your pain . That means a lot to me. Just to provide some insight on the staff, you will be greeted by Brittany at the front office. She is friendly and is very helpful in the front office. Brittany will always greet you with a smile and she is welcoming of everyone. She went above and beyond, for me recently. I requested if she could please ensure that all my diagnoses were listed in my chart and to work on submitting the prior auth. request to my health insurance for my pain mgmt treatment regimen. She did not procrastinate my request, as she started the process that day. Very impressive, as many other practices would have taken a lot longer. Due to her efficiency, my prior auth was approved quickly and by the time my pain medication was due to be filled, the prior auth had already been fully approved for my medication. I really appreciated Brittany's hard work. Jim is one of the medical assistants for Dr. Vigil. Jim too, is wonderful. Jim listens to you and will not judge you either. Jim goes above and beyond, as well, to ensure that you are taken care of and will schedule your followup appt. Jim is an all around great medical assistant. Jim ensures that your e script is transmitted and received at your pharmacy. Jim will make sure to answer any questions that you may have. Andrea is another medical assistant and she takes your vitals and reviews your chart/medications with you, to double check the accuracy of the info depicted in your chart. Andrea is friendly and professional. Lacey is the one that handles the urinalysis drug screen testing. She also is friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Vigil. You will immediately notice that Dr. Vigil wants to help you with your pain. He TRULY cares. You matter to him and that is crucial for both the physician and patient to understand what's going on with a person's pain and to be able to have a rapport. The Ingram location is a very welcoming clinic that will treat you with dignity AND respect. That is so very important. Dr. Vigil truly cares about his patients and he wants to help you. He will treat you as a great human being and not as a number, per se. You will notice, the office as being spacious and clean. As a side note, let me just say, I rarely write reviews, but I feel it's important to share my honest experience with others, as a patient of Dr. Vigil's. I am confident that Dr. Vigil will help you, too, in his many years of expertise in pain management. He will review your symptoms and the various treatment options available that would be applicable to your unique situation. He will answer all of your questions, too. I was referred by a brilliant family member. Lucky for me to have been helped by such caring and knowing people.

I have been a patient at this clinic for several years and have been satisfied with the exception of prescription issues. My most recent issue occurred over the weekend when I picked up my prescriptions at the pharmacy and discovered my pain medicine had been reduced. I have chronic pain for over twenty years. I was not informed by my doctor that changes were being made and no medication had been called in to replace my current medication. This is extremely frustrating as there has been no communication or direction as to how I am supposed to adjust to the current treatment. I have just been reduced to taking my medicine every twelve hours instead of every eight hours. The pharmacist told me my doctor is weaning me off the current medicine. How is a person who is in severe pain and also with additional recent diagnosis of additional medical issues supposed to adjust. I will be looking for a new doctor.

After moving here from Missouri, I needed a new Pain Doctor. Dr. Vigil was recommended. I waited about an hour (which I thought it would be) once I saw him, I was impressed. He had my records from the old Doctor, went over them with me and listened to what I had to say and provided feedback and treatment that was best for me. I have another appt to go back to him and I would refer him to someone needing a Pain Specialist. His staff was very friendly and helpful.

$340, yes I typed that correctly. Arrogant attitude, will not listen to you or pay attention to what you are saying long enough to make an educated decision on your behalf. What a waste of money. This guy isn't going to help you, but he will help his wallet!

I saw this doctor 2 months ago cost was $340 for the visit. I have a number of diagnosis's from previous REAL doctors and just moved here seeking a new doctor. This person is sneaky, underhanded and MONEY HUNGRY! What a horrible experience. I felt manipulated and given the run around here. WATCH OUT!!!!! do not waste your money here folks, there must be better doctors in this city.

Several years ago I was fortunate to find Dr Justin Vigil. I went from not able to climb stairs holding my new grandbabies and hardly being able to get in and out of the car to a totally new person who is able to plan and enjoy long trips with unlimited walking and stair climbing. He listens, understands and addresses my exact back pain and I know I can count on him to patch me up again when the benefits wear off after a year or so. He is a charming, honest and capable man of few words. I literally trust him with my life.

Dr. Vigil has helped me regain me life! His treatment to my back pain has helped me get off the couch and back into the office. I think he has a good heart and cares about his patients as well as being a great physician. Good Job Doc!

I have been seeing Dr. Vigil for a few years now and he is an awesome Dr. He helped my pain lower while the Army doctors never even got close.

This clinic was so nice. Dr Vigil is very easy to talk to and has a great personality! He worked out a good plan of treatment for me and I am doing so much better.
