Three stars is for the headache of dealing with them. I finally had dental insurance so I went to his office which claims to be in the Delta Dental network. I assume they in fact are as the Delta Dental site confirms this. Dr. Specter then told me that patients who have had chemotherapy suffer from gum recession and often require lots of dental work. They did a thorough cleaning. Then he examined my mouth finding two teeth on the lower left where he said the gums had receded and I would need crowns and another behind them would need a filling. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion who is not in the Delta Dental network and he told me I had some gum recession but did not need the crowns because there was no decay there. He then took an x-ray to make sure of that and the x-ray confirmed that there was no decay. The out of network dentist got my coverage from Delta and thus far Dr. Specter's office claims they are unable to. How can that be? That the dentist inside the… network has a problem getting coverage for the insured but the dentist outside the network has not problem? Makes no sense to me.
