Dr. Jyothi Sarma, MD

I have always found Dr.Sarma to be interested in my health and well being. She asks the right questions and orders the right tests. I have some ongoing problems and she is careful to address those with me. I am very happy with her care.

Didn't like my Botox from dr Sarma and got a big bruise.

A year ago I called Dr Sarma's office with severe stomach pain, suspecting I could have had appendicitis. I had been a patient there for numerous years, in fact, I inherited Dr Sarma, only because I was a patient of Dr Kosch (who sold his practice to her). The receptionist told me no appt was available for 5 days. Went in for appt, Dr Sarma spent 5 minutes with me, and sent me away to lab for bloodwork. The next AM, I woke up vomiting and went to the ER. After many tests and CTscan, I was diagnosed as having a ruptured appendix! The ER Dr said it had been ruptured for 5 days! My husband and I heard the ER Dr yelling at Dr Sarma on the phone, shocked that she had seen me the day before. I was taken away asap for a long complicated surgery to clean up my insides. The surgeon told me the next day that it was the biggest mess she had ever seen. She couldn't believe that I was alive! I was in the hospital for 3 days and began a long summer of recovery. Many more blood tests, CT scans, NEW… doctors, colonoscopy, 6 months of continued pain and digestive issues. I never received a courtesy call, a visit, an apology, or any acknowledgement from Dr Sarma. I never even received my results from the bloodwork done the night before my surgery (that definitely would have shown my white blood cell count/ off the charts!) My New Doctor requested my records from Dr Sarma's office and never received them. I did keep receiving a recurring bill for some lousy $25 from Dr Sarma's office, which burned me up, since I had incurred over $100,000 in medical bills over that summer, as a result of the negligent attention I had received. I finally spoke to a very nice woman in charge of billing at Dr Sarma's, regarding the pastdue $25 bill. I told her the whole story and she quickly agreed to zero out my account. I'm so glad it's over!

She accepts assignment as a primary care physician for my health ins. provider but she seem more interested in her skin-care patents. Wait time over 1 hour both visits and when I complained she was dismissive. Staff seems untrained. No follow-up or follow-though with referrals, testing, etc. and her annual exam is a joke.
