Dr. Jyoti Saluja, MD

I find Dr. Saluja to be refreshingly direct, kind, and thorough as my primary care physician.

It was my first trip to an internist, and I didn't expect it to be much different from what I was used to. Dr. Saluja said that pap smears were recommended for women in my age group, even though I was a virgin, and I was too naive to know what that was. She rushed me through signing the papers, and when I asked her to tell me exactly what she was going to do she didn't. I'd never even used a tampon before. I don't understand how this is different than everything my parents warned me about since I was a young girl. It was painful, I didn't want it, and I feel like a part of me has died.

I'll never go back. Saw her at Elmbrook Hospital . I first had difficulty with one of her office staff being rude to me on the phone and on the day of my appointment the same office member was being difficult with an elderly patient as she was checking out. No one in this office ever smiled at me or seemed remotely caring. The nurse had the same gloomy demeanor. Took my blood pressure but never took my temp. Dr. Saluja seemed to be going through the motions, not interested in having me return or retaining me as a patient, told me she could give me a Shingles shot if I'd first "deposit" $220 at the front desk even though I have insurance. She was to have faxed a renewal of an important prescription that aftertnoon, but I found out 2 weeks later the drug company never received a fax or call! Too bad she doesn't smile at her patients like shedid for her professional photo!

I usually see Dr. Saluja at the Elmbrook Hospital office. The staff had always been very helpful in setting the appointments. She really takes her time to listen and understand what you're looking for and is extremely helpful.
