Excellent skill & knowledge.

Never met a Doctor less interested in their patient. At the very least her Staff was neglecting and unhelpful. Also I doubt their knowledge in autonomy.. I was seen to discuss surgery/removal of a lipoma which was located over my right shoulder blade. They ordered a MRI to be made. The order was for a Thoracic Spinal (spinal canal and content) with and without contrast (which I had not been told). They said the Radiology would call me for an appointment within 24 hrs. That was on a Wednesday..no one called on Thursday or Friday. Monday was a holiday. So I called them on Tuesday and I was told that they have an order for the Thoracic Spinal and I questioned it, explaining that the Lipoma is in fact on my Shoulder blade,, not anywhere near the spine. So they told me to call the Dr.s office and have them order the right procedure and I did. When I again called the radiologists, they now had an order for the Lumbar.... again I questioned it and once more I had to call the Dr.s office/… (mind you.. you did not get connected to anyone right away, no ... you have to push buttons to get through to still wait or leave a number so they call you back) This time when I spoke to the Dr.s Assistant Maxine, I questioned her about the failure to order the right procedure and she ensured me 'you need the Thoracic Spinal...so I made the appointment with the Radiologist and when I was ready to get into the MRI machine, I was asked about where the lipoma is, I pointed out my right shoulder blade and I was told.. well the Thoracic Spinal would definitely NOT NOT NOT be correct and we would get not the right pictures.. I sat at that office for altogether 4hrs until their staff (at Valley Radiologists and they were totally awesome and caring) was able to get a verbal confirmation from Dr. Matatovas office to in fact take an MRI of my shoulder! I also was told by the radiology staff that the Thoracic Spinal procedure had been declined by my insurance (due to the fact that there was no history of anything being wrong with my spine..duh!!!) So now I had to cover the cost of the MRI out of pocket, because the Radiologists could not get approval the same day and if I had not paid and the insurance later wouldn't cover the cost, I would have had to pay the full bill instead of the partial! I would not recommend Dr. Matatova's office! Also I was contacted to get another consultation, but with a different Doctor, because it turned out that Dr. Matatova up and left the office without contacting other staff, even though she had plenty of patients scheduled (hearsay from the staff that contact me for a new appointment)
