Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?:I always wanted to be in healthcare since a small child but I originally wanted to be a veterinarian due to my love of all creatures.After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw how amazing her healthcare providers were and how they changed her healthcare experience.They were always there for her and were so kind/caring.It was at that time that I shifted my focus to humans as I felt that I could make a large impact on many.I chose to be a physician assistant so I could minimize my school debt and start my family sooner. I have no regrets with this choice and I love being a physician assistant. What I want my patients to know about me?:I am married to my husband Joel who is an automechanic. We have two high energy daughters, Sophia and Gianna. My family loves all creatures and we have an almost 18 year old cat named Ambie (and two fish). I love my job and caring for my patients. I treat all my patients as I would my family. I am …empathetic and understanding to all. I am very responsive to my patient's concerns and always respond in a timely fashion. I encourage my patients to use My Wellspan as that is the easiest way to get ahold of me.I am very flexible/patient and always encourage patients to be their own healthcare advocates. I treat patients of all ages (2 days to 100 years) and all medical conditions but my passion is mental health disorders. Having a hx of anxiety myself makes it very easy to relate to and connect with my patients. What I do when I'm not seeing patients?:You will likely find me with my family! My girls are growing up so fast and I love spending every moment I can with them! We love going to playgrounds, petting zoos, Cherry Crest, and Dutch Wonderland! I love reading, doing puzzles, doing crafts, listening to music, and drawing/coloring! I enjoy cooking/baking! If I get lucky, I love to spend time with my friends!
