Dr. Kalpana Kumari, MD

I had great reviews for the doctor earlier and stand by it still. She is a great doctor in the Edison area and I have been seeing her for the last year and a half. However we encountered issues and had bad experience with one staff in particular, Danielle I think her name was. Normally all the staffs in the clinic carry a great attitude but this one staff had to be put on the spot, as she neglects any concerns patents bring to her at the front desk, never checks with the doctor for availability. My son had been crying incessantly and needed some help. We ended up making a sick visit to an almost empty office that day with the associate doctor already seeing one patient. While I totally understand that it was an unplanned sick visit and was willing to wait, Danielle simply shut the door on us saying that I check back with the doctor 2 days later as it was a weekend. If she were to atleast check with the doctor on phone first before telling us to leave, I would have most appreciated her… efforts and would have reflected a different feeling that they are there to help us and not merely do business with -- a trait that a front desk person should highlight the most but was seriously lacking a kindred feeling. Other than that one concern with her staff, we still found Dr.Kumari to be one of the best doctors in the Edison area.

Dr.Kumari is one of "the best" pediatricians without a shallow of doubt in my mind. From the very first time we saw her for my newborn, she never ceased to impress us. At the time, I considered a few pediatricians affiliated to JFK Hospital and in Edison area and you can tell which doctor is passionate towards her profession as opposed to just being money minded. Dr.Kumari is a cut above the rest. She is extremely dedicated, and her bedside manner is outstanding. The staffs Danielle and others are very friendly and easy to work with. She has an answering service on days they are not open and if its an emergency, the doctor will call you back. She answers all questions in detail, I never feel rushed during her visits. Plus she is very knowledgeable I must say. When my son Rishaan was born he was diagnosed with jaundice and Dr Kumari would often do more than 2 visits a day to have my son checked. Once I think she was around at a 11pm at night and fully committed that we really… really appreciate. You would be hard pressed to find a pediatrician like her in this day and age. My wife and I totally love her and I highly recommend Dr.Kumari if you are in the Edison area.

Doctor is really good and she spends sufficient time and goes through each and everything with the parents about the child, the only problem is waiting time is little bit more than expected. For each visit at least you have to wait about 30 minutes for the doctor.
