Dr. Kalyani Maganti, MD

I was losing a lot of weight a colonoscopy & endoscopy was the next step I was very scared ! Dr Maganti was very kind warm and supportive this had to be done I am thankful I was able to have Dr Maganti as my doctor

From the first visit I knew she was going to be my choice of Dr for my colonoscopy . I had visited 2 other gastro Drs who honestly didn’t even examine me but automatically said colonoscopy . I think it’s invasive to go from no testing to probing my insides . So I wanted to do every other test possible first but when those didn’t find out the cause I knew I had to just do it . She listened to all my concerns ... we went through each test one by one . She also addressed the cleanliness of the scopes used . I was never rushed because I had many questions . Day of procedure went smooth. The prep sucks but the rest was easy . She was on time entire procedure took 45 min . I’m glad I went with her.

Dr. is rude, yelled at me, accused me of not following her directions when I did, and worse wanted to schedule a 2nd colonoscopy without receiving authorization from my insurance. I was told it doesn't matter you have a PPO. Yes it matters I pay twice as much. Absolutely the worst doctor I have ever seen

.Very poor verbal English communication skills and will claim that she discusses the risks of a procedure to be performed when she actually doesn't. Creates notations after the fact including when the procedure goes sideways. .No empathy whatsoever and didn't follow up with patient after putting her in hospital for one week of intensive care after open cavity surgery to repair her damage. .Destroyed a Mom's ability to ever lift her 5 year-old son again and a beautiful woman's ability to ever wear a two-piece bathing suit again. The surgery to repair Maganti's botched procedure required vertical incision through the abdominal muscles from the chest line to below the navel. . If you hear this doctor's name or another doctor in the East Bay Medical Group, the Sutter Health organization, or other physician recommends this doctor, run the other way as fast as you can. Maganti causes life-changing injuries during generally low-risk procedures and doesn't seem to care. .Did I mention that… Maganti arrived to the hospital 20 minutes late to perform this procedure?

I was happy to see a doctor who spent time with me prior to my procedure in our appointment to get to know me. She also came to see me and give me an update after the procedure was completed. My previous MD, though very effective in diagnosing and treating, left me high and dry on more than one occasion after procedure, leaving me voice mails about biopsies and never making any face to face contact with me afterwards. Dr Maganti actually came in to see me and I also felt I had a better experience with the staff involved in Concord surgery clinic rather than in Walnut Creek.

Wasted my time at the expense of my health also the risk factor of performing the procedure was for nothing.

I waited 2 months for this appointment. After waiting another 45 minutes in the office I was frustrated and felt rushed. I was told what she wanted to do but didn't get an explanation why. She never even touched me though I complained of specific pain and problems. The description of the procedures were vague. I was quickly ushered into another office to schedule the procedure. I left without setting up an appointment for surgery. Now that the pain is severe and interfering in my life I have to schedule it.
