Dr. Kamala Littleton, MD

Dr. Littleton is a highly skilled exceptional surgeon with; strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

I have read reviews on this site, dated 2011-2019. My experience has been so very very different from the complaints I have read. Initial visit was accomplished efficiently. Dr. Littleton spent time with me and spoke of my circumstances with insight I did not expect. As best as I can tell this surgery will be the life restorer I hoped for. I am a retired nurse practitioner, with over 35years in out-patient and sub-acute settings. I can attest to memories of visits in which I wish I had interacted differently with my patient. We all grow up, become more competent and, if we are lucky, more aware of the hubris needed to practice medicine well. Perhaps my experience is the result of that process for Dr. Littleton. In any case, I would encourage any friend considering need for knee or hip surgery to visit her.

I schedule an appointment with Dr. Littleton for hip/groin pain and right shoulder pain numbness. I was told to arrive 1/2 hour early for X-Rays. After waiting 1/2 hour I was taken to another waiting room to wait another 15 minuts. After the X-rays taken back to waiting room to wait for a open room. Another 15 minutes and I was shown into a room ask to undress and put on a gown. Another 1/2 hour wait and finally Dr Littleton arrived. She took a quick look at my X-rays, asked me to walk, tested my flexibility in hips and shoulder and told nothing wrong with any, no arthritis. This is surprising because I have arthritis everywhere in my body. She said most likely my back and keep up exercising. Questioned why I was doing PT and said I was abusing the system. Called my PT incompetent. So to summarized after 1 1/2 hour wait I had 5 minutes with her and told nothing wrong. Never going to her or telling anyone to go to her.

She was kind, caring, professional and extremely knowledgeable. She was down to earth, patient and easy to talk to. Glad I chose her!

I have been a patient of Dr. Littleton’s for about 10 years. I always dismissed her attitude and thought it was just something one had to put up with. During my last two visits I felt her dismissive attitude was over the top- my last visit she actually told me she didn’t have time to listen to me because she had another patient waiting. We were discussing my bilateral knee replacement! She had spent less than 5 minutes with me. I won’t be returning, there’s no reason to treat your patients with a rude, belittling attitude. I’ve had enough.

Dr Littleton is very professional and cares about her patients. I had 2 total knee replacements 1 1/2 years apart and had pain issues both times and she was patient and pushed me when I needed pushing. She knew I could push through and that really helped me get through. I never wait long to see her and can get an appointment quickly when needed. Her PA Laura is a great asset to the team. I use My Chart to communicate with them and get a response quickly. Her staff is great and always very helpful.

Mis-diagnosed my knee pain as osteo arthritis. While under her "treament" I was in pain every day. Finally went to see someone competent and was diagnosed correctly with a meniscus tear. I have been pain free since. The hyaluronic she injected was a completely inappropriate treatment for my condition that cost me thousands out of pocket. In addition she has a very dismissive and arrogant attitude. There is no excuse for her missing a simple diagnosis.

I knew her personally when she was a resident at University of MD. She is a complete sweetheart. I cannot believe she turned into this rude, arrogant person described in some of these reviews. Maybe when you went to her there was really nothing wrong with you and she just told you the truth. People often go to have procedures done with secondary gains in mind and a good physician will not operate on someone who doesn't have a problem. One can always find a physician out there who will operate. Believe me, I know. I have been a nurse for 29 years and a workers'comp. nurse for several of those years. i have seen many "wasted" procedures done and if the individual is truly injured, they usually end up worse off then before they had the operation. And if they had nothing wrong w/ them before the operation, they do now. Something to think about before you knock Dr. Littleton.

Very Rude, Disrespectful, Wrong diagnosis. Told me that I got to live with my pain and apparently read???? My MRI and said That I Was fine. I went to Two other Doctors and They recommended a knee arthroscopy and My life was back to normal. She was like a waste of time. Careless and very arrogant.

You WILL wait more then an hour. She WILL rush through the appointment. You WILL waste your time and money. you WILL have to go see someone else bc she tells you nothing. it took me three calls to make an appointment. just to sit in her waiting room or an hour and 40 minutes just to see her for 7 minutes....do not waste your time.
