Dr. Kana Yajima

I do not recommend this dentist. She recommends many unnecessary procedures, claims to accept your insurance and that everything would be covered when you call over the phone to verify but after the exam, she and her staff tell you that none of the procedures recommended are covered by your insurance and makes you pay upfront out of pocket for everything at what she claims is a “reduced cost” (but is actually much higher than what other dentists have charged me out of pocket later on) but also ends up secretly billing your insurance the full cost of the procedures without telling you. However, I found out over a year later from my insurance provider that they actually do cover all of these things, and I was told that should not have paid anything out of pocket for these procedures despite what Dr Yajima’s staff had insisted, but Dr Yajima had billed my insurance for all of these at the time in addition to making me pay a huge cost out-of-pocket. I was told by my dental insurance… provider that medi-caid does not reimburse patients afterwards if they pay out of pocket for procedures and that my dentist should not have charged me up front like that. So basically Dr Yajima charged twice for all the procedures she did, by billing full price to my insurance and to me to pay out of pocket, without even telling me that she’d be billing my insurance. Even worse is that not long after two of the root canals and crowns was done by her, one turned out to be infected and that root canal had to be redone, while the other tooth that had a root canal and crown done by her recently turned out to have issues now, about a year later. Problem is that because of her charging my insurance, I have been told by my new dentist afterwards that even though I apparently need to have a new root canal and crown done for at least one of those teeth, my insurance won’t cover it because it’s been too soon. So I’m losing out on even more money because the dentist did not do these root canals and/or crowns correctly despite charging me and my insurance twice for them. I’m just very disheartened by the way this dentist seems to make a habit of committing what seems to be insurance fraud, without even providing adequate treatment to her patients. I have a family member with the same insurance who has seen Dr Yajima in the past and has mentioned that they had this same issue where they were charged the full price of procedures out of pocket upfront, but that Dr. Yajima had also billed full price to their insurance as well.

Dr Yajima caused months of extreme pain to fix all the problems she created by poor dentistry

I visited the clinic the first time. Dr. Kana Yajima listened to my problem well, was very professional and explained thoroughly before and after the treatment. She and her staff were very friendly. I needed to install implant crown which was not originally installed by her. As I understand there are so many different kind of implant and usually only the dentist who originally installed can re-install. She researched and found right tool and successfully re-installed the crown. I was so happy. She also discovered my gum problem. I will continue getting her service.

What a great dental office! Staff is very friendly and helpful with questions. Dr. Yajima is a very experienced, knowledgable & skilled dentist. It's so obvious that she really CARES about her patients. Dr. Yajima goes out of her way to make sure you understand your dental health & takes time to answer your questions. Her calm and comforting demeanor makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this office!!

Competent, direct and good listening skills. A clear & concise "plan" is presented and explained before work is begun. Dentistry does not need surprises.

I love going to Dr. Yajimas office, before I found her I was terrified of dentist and dental procedures. After coming here for 6 years I have no more fears. Everyone at that office treats you so nice and also doctor is highly skilled and I trust her with any dental procedure. When I first started coming to her office I had so much work ahead of me but amazingly she has fixed all my issues and has thought me how to properly take care of my teeth and Gums. My husband and two kids love this office too! My kids have been coming here since 1 years old and they have no fear of dentist they always want to be the first one in her chair.
