Dr. Kanchan M. Mahon, MD

This was the worst treatment I have ever had from a psychiatrist. I'm pretty sure she and her husband need a psychiatrist themselves!! The office smelled weird, Dr mahon seemed like she was on something during one appt. Went on and on and on about how she lost weight and I would never even recognize her if I saw an old picture.. She is clearly a narcissist. Please stay away from this practice!!

I have bn seeing Dr. Mahon for awhile. Wen I first came to see her I was in a really bad place in my life and she sat and listened to me and knew from that first visit I had undiagnosed medical conditions that had bn overlooked by MANY DR'S!! She told me from the moment I had that first visit with her she'd never give up on me and she didn't... NO MATTER WHAT ANY OTHER DR SAID!! She said she wasn't going to let me fall between the cracks anymore bc she knew there was something wrong and she has helped me after many years of suffering get a diagnosis...THAT SHE HAD DISCOVERED that other doctors were simply overlooking!! She was the one that ended diagnosing my lupus evn after the other Dr's looked away EVN AFTER GETTING MY TEST RESULTS!!!!!! I honestly feel like she's been my angel and I truly mean that!!! If it hadn't bn for her I don't know what would of happened to me, She has literally saved my life!!! I could NEVER THNK HER NOR REPAY HER FOR ALL SHE AND BRANDON HAS DEALT WITH… TO HELP ME !!!! She is by far the most caring and compassionate Dr I've ever seen and pretty confident in saying EVER WILL SEE!!! I truly can't say enough about her and the kind soul she is, if she believes in you she will do wat evr she can to help you and there's not one other Dr I can honestly say that about!!! Ty Dr Mahon for being the kind caring person that you are!! You truly are an Angel sent from above!!!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Mahon for several yrs!! I can honestly say she has been nothing but an ANGEL!! GOD BLESS HER AND HER PATIENTS BCUZ SHE WAS THE ONLY DR WILLING TO LISTEN TO MY PROBLEMS AN PUT TWO N TWO TOGETHER WITHOUT GIVING UP ON ME! WHEN NO OTHER DR ...AND WHEN I SAY NO OTHER DR. I MEAN MANY THAT COULDN'T FIGURE OUT OR WOULD EVEN LISTEN TO MY PROBLEMS TO TRY N FIGURE IT OUT. SHE TOLD ME SHE'D NEVER GIVE UP ON ME AND SHE DIDN'T!!! DR.AFTER DR. TELLING ME NOTHING WAS WRONG, IT'S ALL IN UR HEAD ...IT TURNED OUT THAT I HAVE SYSTEMIC LUPUS AND I AM NOW ON CHEMO MEDICATION FOR SOMETHING NO ONE ELSE WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN AND WANT TO HELP ME FIND THE ANSWERS!!! SHE WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT TOOK MY PROBLEMS SERIOUSLY AND WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN AND CHECKED ME FOR LUPUS!! BOTTOM LINE I GUESS IS ITS AWFUL AND IT'S BEEN SUCH A LONG JOURNEY TO GET TO WHERE I'M AT RIGHT NOW AND I TRULY KNOW WITH EVERY ELSE OF MY BEING I COULD HAVE NEVER GONE THROUGH THIS… WITHOUT HER HELP, IF IT WASN'T FOR HER NOT GIVING UP ON ME...LIKE SHE PROMISED I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME. ALL I KNOW IS SHE'S BEEN A GOD SEND FOR ME AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT HER, SHE'S AN AMAZING DR.N IF IT HADNT BEEN FOR HER BEING SOO CARING AND GENUINELY BEING CONCERNED ABOUT ME I MAY NOT HAVE EVER BEEN DIAGNOSED AND I TRULY CAN'T SAY ONE BAD THING ABOUT HER!! I AM SOO GRATEFUL TO HAVE MET HER AND HAVE HER AS ONE OF MY DR.S!!

Kanchan Mahon "evaluated" and treated my young children without my knowledge or consent, kept her evaluation and treatment records secret from an established and well respected pediatrician in our community for months because her patient selfishly requested that she not reach out to the children's treating Pediatrician...all to help her drug seeking patient obtain sole custody of our children and to the detriment of our children. Kanchan Mahon will harm children without 'blinking an eye' Apparently she is one of the few Psychiatrists in the area that are willing to testify? I hope this helps people to research before 'settling down' and making decisions about where to raise your family? Hindsight has personally taught me many hard lessons. I was naive as a young mother, trying to protect our children from becoming abusive like her patient and did not deserve the predatory assault Kanchan Mahon inflicted on my ability to protect our children in court via her testimony under oath in… 2013. Her testimony directly affected the placement of my children with her patient who ended up abusing them both emotionally and physically. Kanchan Mahon loves to induce pain that she can watch play out over time and enjoy like one would enjoy a movie.. sick...sick..sick. Drug seeking patient's of her's would most likely be the one's to leave her good reviews, especially after reading other reviews online. Common sense? Ask around... Ask other Physicians that use common sense. I have never met this doctor yet her acts were a direct result of 2 boys being abruptly deprived of their mother because Kanchan Mahon is 'one of the few psychiatrists willing to testify in family/divorce court'... your unexpected family crisis will play out in the area you consent to living in.. fact. choose wisely.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced in all of my life. Not only was he extremely rude. But, to someone who is supposed to be working with people with a mental illness, how he responded to the situation at hand could have ended someones life.. just beyond horrible. I've heard great things about the doctor, and this is very disappointing as I probably wont ever go to this office having had to deal with the receptionist. Dr Mahon, if you see this, please, for the love of Broome Countys mental health state, get your receptionist some training or get a new one!

Dr Mahon has worked with me so patiently for over 2 years to find the exact right combination of medication to relieve my terrible condition. I am so grateful to her for her patience in the hot and miss process to find just the right combination. She is kind, engaged, smart and patient.

Worst experience I have EVER has with a psychiatrist!! Once while I was waiting I heard her yelling at her husband er.. receptionist. I'm pretty sure something was thrown. Then she comes out all angry and asks why I didn't tell them I was there!! Umm... Because you were screaming? It's all a weird situation and she and her husband totally creeped me out. Stay away from this practice!!!!
