Kandace A. Gonzalez, CRNP

With more than 20 years of nursing experience, Kandace A. Gonzalez, CRNP, is a certified registered nurse practitioner who specializes in pulmonology. She cares for adults with pulmonary, or lung, diseases — especially sarcoidosis, pulmonary nodules and interstitial lung disease, which occurs when the lung tissue becomes scarred and inflamed. Ms. Gonzalez is a Pennsylvania native who chose to pursue her career near her family and friends. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Penn State University and her master’s degree in nursing from Bloomsburg University. She is a certified Oncology Nursing Society chemotherapy and biotherapy provider. An innovator, Ms. Gonzalez is the lead nurse practitioner for the successful System to Track Abnormalities of Importance Reliably (STAIR) program. STAIR uses advanced technology and personal care from nurses to connect lung nodule patients with the proper level of treatment.“I always wanted to be a nurse and help …take care of people,” says Ms. Gonzalez. “My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was in college, and I was inspired by several providers that I encountered during his illness.”Ms. Gonzalez is the mother of 2 teens and a pet parent to 2 dogs. She enjoys shopping, traveling and volunteering.
