Dr. Kapil Wattamwar, MD

Kapil Wattamwar, MD, is Director, Interventional Radiology Research and Director, Pediatric Radiology at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Wattamwar has a broad clinical interest in many areas of vascular and non-vascular intervention, including women’s health, oncology, hepatobiliary and pediatric intervention.After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from Columbia University in 2013, Dr. Wattamwar earned his Doctor of Medicine at Rutgers University in 2017 before completing his internal medicine internship at Yale School of Medicine in 2018. He then completed his residency in integrated interventional/diagnostic radiology at Montefiore Einstein in 2023, where he was Chief Resident.Dr. Wattamwar’s research interests lie at the intersection of medicine and technology, spanning improved interventional techniques, medical devices, patient outcomes and medical education. His work has …been published in numerous peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, book chapters, editorials, case series and other publications. He has also shared his work through many scientific oral presentations, abstracts and poster presentations.Dr. Wattamwar is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology and the New York Roentgen Society. Dr. Wattamwar speaks English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Marathi.
