Dr. Kareem Abu-Elmagd

Dr.Kareem performed complicated gut rehabilitation surgery on me exactly a year ago, he was excellent in every capacity and I have been doing better than I expected after such a large surgery - no significant complications.

As a transplant surgeon he is brilliant! His commitment to Gut Rehabilitation is excellent. His bedside manner is poor and his office techniques need to be honed. Dr Costa was warm, kind and wonderful. Shatina the office RN is rude, unkind and she lets everything/everyone fall through the cracks. This causes Dr Kareem’s hard work and dedication to be jeopardized. Bring back Dr Costa.

Dr Kareem and his surgical team saved my life. After struggling for 13 years to find out what was wrong me....he took me seriously, listened, and searched for answers. Once they discovered what the rare medical problem was, they did two surgeries and changed my entire life. Dr Kareem is one of the most caring and loving human beings I’ve ever met. He holds your hand when you are scared and takes as much time as you need to get all your questions answered. His office staff could use some work. Jacqui is so caring and helpful. His nurse Shatina is a nightmare to deal with. She is always defensive and very short and rude. The only time she is somewhat friendly is when the doctor is present. On the phone she cuts you off as you speak, tells you she will check with the doctor and call you back-but doesn’t, and she makes you feel like a burden. The office manager isn’t much better. The nurse practioner Marissa is absolutely phenomenal and adorable. You can tell she loves helping her… patients. I love the physicians in this group but dread calling to schedule an appointment or ask a question. Dr kareem is trulybthe best

Dr Kareem is a good surgeon, but with serious bed side manner problems. He talks down to patients, and one time even suggested I was a homosexual for having an off colored casing for my phone. He thought it was a joke, I ignored it but others could take serious offense to this. My wife was also insulted in several occasions. He doesn't like it when you question him, and he lashes out at his nurses. Nurses would leave crying from the room. If you can put up with his temper and filthy humor. Go for him, he can fix you up.

I was Transplanted by Dr. Kareem and his team. He is, I feel, the best at what he does. He is VERY dedicated to the overall well being of his patients. And his professionalism and knoledge carries over well with his staff. If it were not for them, I literally would not be alive today.

Dr. Kareem is a wonderful person he is so kind and very experienced. Dr. Kareem is someone who can be trusted he tells you the problem and then he fixes it. He has given a second chance to the love of my life I will never forget to pray for him. When other doctors could do nothing we thought we would have to travel to the Mayo clinic then we met Dr. Kareem. In my heart i really believe if it was not for him we would not have had such a good outcome. I am forever thankful and to anyone in need find Dr. Kareem. Words can never express how thankful we are.

We were told my husband had only a short time to live and nothing could be done for him. We found Kareem and he saved his life. He is a true miracle worker!
