Dr. Karen Aruna Adler, MD

Dr. Adler is someone who puts her patients needs first. She is kind and caring; helpful and honest. She has seen me through some truly frightening times. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor!

I was introduced to her through a friend of my daughter and before her I had given up on therapists / psychiatrists. They had seemed cold and somehow not understanding my situation. But with my first visit Karen Adler won my heart and I knew that she would try and she was able to understand my dilemma. Since I found her - some years ago, I would never think of anyone else. She gets me, and is so understanding, soft and human. I love her and would highly recommend her:)

I have been seeing Dr Adler for 5 years. Over this period of time I have found her to be deeply caring and committed. Her kindness is supported by her expertise in medicine management and my particular diagnoses. She stays current with treatment options and is clear and concise when offering options.

Dr. Adler helped me with making a difficult choice regarding medication change. She listened carefully to me and provided a very competent assessment of my pros and cons for each option. I definitely felt very well taken care of, something I have struggled in other providers for Behavioral health. Her giving nature is also exemplified in the free support group she runs for trauma patients. I highly recommend Dr. Adler to anyone looking for medication management!

In the 30 years that I have sought out & received treatment for my C-PTSD, I have only encountered 3 psychiatrists who I would rate with 5 stars. Dr Adler provides a safe space to be open about my challenges navigating symptoms & learning to balance my MH with my wellness . I’m a strong believer that the key to any therapeutic relationship is the connection I can - or cannot - form with a provider. Unlike many psychiatrists, Dr Adler listens to hear not to respond. She uses her clinical skill to provide suggestions and to prompt further discussion. I’ve greatly appreciated her understanding of her clients as ‘whole ‘ human beings : my trauma had impacted my mind & my body & my relationships. I have been told many times by MH professionals that I’m ‘too complicated’ for them to work with me- I’ve learned to be cautious with even talking to Clinicians, so for me to provide a psychiatrist 5 stars is indicative of how rare it is to find a Dr like her.

Dr. Karen Adler is one of a kind in her treatment and compassion for helping people. I was a patient for almost ten years, when I was at my worst emotionally she was at her best professionally. She always makes you feel cared about, not only does she work hard to get medication management under control she is a phenomenal therapist! She runs a women’s group that touches on so many issues and is a comfortable space to open up. Unfortunately I moved to far away to continue to work with her, I know I will never find anyone who could compare!

In my experience working with Dr. Adler I do not have a single bad thing to say about her! I have been working with her for close to nine years, she has always been compassionate and attentive. She has helped me tremendously to break free of my PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. I have been working with psychiatrists since I was nine years old and have never found one that has been willing not only to work with me in the office, but has been on call after hours when I have been really struggling. I am very saddened and confused by negative reviews, all I can say is sick and hurt people like to hurt people.

During my 7 years of treatment with Dr Adler I have not one bad experience, she is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. She listens and responds with genuine care and kindness. I would recommend her to anyone.
