Dr. Karen Ahlstrom, MD

Karen was such a fresh of breath air when my 3year old son needed surgery. She was kind, took her time explaining, and building the foundation of trust between her and him. I would highly recommend her for tubes, adenoids, tonsillectomies for kiddos. Thank You Dr. Ahlstrom!!

She was the more rude and inconsiderate person I have ever dealt with. Not only did she NOT do her job but she took it upon herself to make personal insults about me that were unwarranted, uncalled for and completely out of line. She is a terrible person and a less than adequate doctor.

I have had a few surgical procedures done by Dr. Ahlstrom. Although she has a confidence and seemingly high knowledge regarding her field, this Doctor fails my expectations. After one procedure that was scheduled for a couple hours I ended up in the intensive care unit with a hole in my wind pipe. During this standard procedure the tools she required were not available in the surgical suite, so while I was under aanestesia, she waited twelve hours for the proper instruments to be delivered to the facility before she could finish. Following the procedure, which should have been standard, my throat started swelling up like a balloon. I went back to the facilities ER and went through the hassle of being seen when it was obvious something serious was wrong. Several employees would walk by my ER bed and whisper about how morbid and extreme my condition looked. I was treated in the ICU for several days due to the likelihood of a secondary infection or air infiltrating the area in my chest… around my heart. Following the ICU treatment she refused to treat me any longer.

After getting taken back to a room she said she could not see us because she wasn't accepting new patients. .. We were already there in the room. Our son requires 3 bags, 4 oxygen tanks, double stroller, a vent, an oxygen monitor and diaper bag

Visited this doctor for allergies. She found a condition other doctors had missed in my throat. Told her I felt I was reacting to a specific food. Came back for testing. She had not ordered a test for the one food I'd mentioned. Her staff contacted me several times to say I was a great candidate for shot therapy (even though all my allergies were low-grade). Went back for a third appt she'd set up w/ me at the first; imagine my surprise when I arrived to find she'd not set it up with her staff. Overall communication very poor, e.g., I was told to :go down the hall to that desk and they would know what to do". When I got there I felt like an idiot b/c they didn't know and she'd not communicated any more than that. I'll be going elsewhere . She may be a great physician, but if she can't communicate any better than this, she shouldn't be working with humans.

She listen to me and help me. She explain what going to do. She save my many times. She told me she going my Doctor for 20 years. She already been my doctor for 8 years. She will go extra mile to help anybody. She not only a great doctor but wonderful person. She done a lot for this commity and other commities. I am so please to have as my doctor.
