Dr. Karen Haug Donley, MD

I saw Dr. Karen Donely about 5 yrs ago. I had a large lump and she sent me out for a mammo and biopsy. I was told by radiologist after biopsy that I had cancer. DR. Donley's office called the next day and asked me if I had heard from my radiologist. I asked Dr. Donely's secretary, Linda how bad the cancer was and she would not tell me. I asked to talk to Dr. Donely and was told she was busy. I requested Dr. Donely call me. She never did. The secretary also never set me up with an appt to see the doctor. A year later, I got a call from the same secretary, telling me that I was due for my yearly mammo and "by the way, did I ever get treated for that cancer". The ignored me for a year and the doctor never call me as I had requested. I ended up finding a doctor in another big city who was able to see me within a few days. My radiologist sent him the my test results. Ended up having a bad fast growing tumor that needed treatment ASAP. I ended up having surgery 2.5 wks. … Thank God I found myself a good specialist who saw me very quickly. Shame on you Dr. Donely, for deserting your patient after a cancer diagnosis and not even giving a call back.

Due to change in company health benefits, I had to locate a new gynecologist for annual exams in 2010. I located Dr. Donley and arranged for my annual checkup. Unlike other doctors, she met with me in her office to discuss my history and concerns before moving me to another room for the check up. I shared some symptoms and she recommended I see a neurologist. I followed her recommendation and referral to a neurologist at Eisenhower. Because she listened to me (previous doctors diagnosed stress disorder), I was diagnosed with a rare arteriovenous malformation on the left temporal lobe. I underwent neurosurgery to remove the AVM. She saved my life by listening to me and making the right decision to refer me to another doctor for further diagnosis. Dr. Donley remains my doctor after 4 years of care. She is great!

There is nothing special about this doctor. The receptionist is cold and condescending. You have to leave your charge card number with them and months later you are charged for services you were unaware of. They also bill incorrectly so you are charged for services that are covered. Read everything, sign nothing and don't leave your card number. Not a wise choice for women using Medicare.

Karen Donley is a great doctor and she definitely showed the compassion that everyone wants in a doctor. She was also educated at Stanford which is quite the achievement. However, I wouldn't schedule for another visit. I don't care much for the nurses working there alongside the doctor.

Extremely professional office. The doctor sits down and talks with me first. They do not double schedule patients. Each person gets full attention.

I have had very good experiences with Dr. Donley. She never rushes during our appointment and the wait time is minimal. Her appointment person/receptionist is always very nice and patient. Her PA could be a little more friendly when doing your BP and initial intake, but otherwise, an overall very good environment.

The office is very efficient but Dr. Donley is very cold and dismissive. She made me feel very rushed.I even asked her with some sarcasm am I keeping you from something? She just grinned. Will most likely go to someone else next time.

She spends time with the patient! I am very happy that she is here in our Valley, because she also works in LA. Very good doctor in terms of clinical skills!!

Dr. Donley always shows a keen interest in my general health and offers helpful advice. I strongly recommend her to any woman seeking a first rate gynecologist.

She is one of the best Gyn's I have ever been to. I have a lot of confidence in her abilities and am always given time time needed to address my concerns. I am never rushed, however, my time is never wasted in the waiting room either! She & her staff do a great job of time management, a rare thing these days in a doctor's office.
