Dr. Karen Marie Hummel, MD

Today I waited 70 minutes and finally left without ever seeing Dr. Hummel. Not uncommon to have to wait more than 30 minutes. I just needed follow up blood work after thyroid surgery done at UH, but she made me come in for an appointment before she'd order the bloodwork. Then when I asked for my records to bring them to another doctor outside UH, the office manager told me I would have to pay for them unless I saw another UH doctor. What a scam!

I like Dr Hummel very much as a doctor. She is very helpful & will listen to what you have to say, then take notes on her laptop computer. She is understanding & very precise in her position. I would recommend her as a dcotr in a minute.

We have been seeing Dr. Hummel for about 7 years now and have always been more than happy with her care. She has always been very proactive in her care, which is very important to me. She cares for my children like she would her own and genuinely cares about her patients, both children and adults. She listens to the patients' concerns, asks the important questions, and does not rush or make you feel like she has somewhere better to be. I cannot say enough positive things about her and her staff. She is the kind of doctor you hope and pray for when it comes to caring for you and your family.

I found Dr. Hummel to be everything I was looking for. I am an R.N., which makes me a picky patient in some ways, but Dr. Hummel looked at my records, asked questions about the history I had taken time to fill out, and was exceptional. She answered questions and did not appear to be in a hurry. Very knowledgeable. She sees my children as well and has met and exceeded all of my expectations.
