Dr. Karen Elizabeth Leitzel, MD

Immediate Care Visit: Dr. Leitzel and the staff were amazing. Even though a lot of the symptoms had decreased by the time I got to the facility the team treated me no different. Doc was thorough in her examination and with ordering any tests needed to help diagnose the issue and she was clear and complete with advising me along the way. I would welcome her as a regular part of my care team if that were possible. Thank you to Dr. Leitzel and the team for everything they did for me.

I am so grateful that I was able to be helped by Dr. Leitzel and nurse Valerie. They were both so kind and got a shard of metal out of my arm, stitched it up, and prescribed antibiotics as needed. She was a rockstar and I’m so grateful!!!

My son has an extensive history of ear problems, I took him to urgent care until I could reach out to his ENT in Chicago, she took the time to look up and ask about his history of problems and treatments. She prescribed drops and gave a backup med script to fill depending on how my son progressed or what the ENT decided. I spoke with the ENT staff, the next day at U of C, and they confirmed the drops were the way to go! I haved used St. Mary's urgent care in the past and will continue to do so when needed.

Probably one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered. Wasted 2 hours of my day for absolutely nothing constructive. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and there was a really bad communication issue between her staff and herself. I hope to never have her again for a doctor.

Misdiagnosed me and my son on 2 separate occasions at the immediate care clinic. Did a very poor assessment both times. I'd call ahead of time to see if she's on staff for the day. If she is, go somewhere else.

Lacks compassion towards children, lacks decisiveness when conducting procedures, would never tell anyone to see her
