Dr. Karen Joy Nishida, MD

Superb surgeon. I was so nervous to have a hysterectomy but Dr. Nishida came highly recommended by everyone I asked. My recovery was quick and I was surprised how well I felt after a few days. I was back at work in 2 weeks. I would do the surgery again if I had to. I highly recommend this doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Nishida by my Gyn and my primary care doctor. Also, I had friends who had surgery with Dr. Nishida. Everyone speaks so highly of her and she has an outstanding reputation in her field. I was reassured when I went to the hospital and all the nurses said she is the best surgeon they have worked with. She was patient and kind. I could feel that she truly understood and wanted to help me through my difficult time. She was so patient with me. She spoke to me in simple terms that I could understand. She is lovely and sweet. I feel so fortunate to have had her as my surgeon.

She is very rude and insensitive. Made me feel super uncomfortable and as if I was crazy. She kept dismissing my OBGYN recommendation based on my age, (being young) and that the new guidelines/law doesnt require Pap smears until 25.. maybe why so many Women in the past lost their uterus because of uneducated selfish doctors like her.. I do not recommend her at all. Save your money and do not waste a minute of your time with a doctor like her. As she is an oncology doctor who has no manners. She’s too worried about being audited rather than helping her patients feel more comfortable when they suffer from bad anxiety. She’s literally getting paid hundreds of dollars to have a 10 min video chat and be dismissive and rude. Also, she was late to our video conference and didn’t even think to have her staff contact me to let me know she’s running late. I had to call her staff to get her to connect and once I finally called her office, she connected a couple minutes after.

I cannot compliment and say enough kind words of Dr. Nishida, she is very knowledgeable, caring and is truly one of the top in her field. There is no question that is left unanswered. I have seen her through the years and she has offered the very best of service to me personally and some of my family members and friends, who have had a series of complications in their lives. For this reason, I truly believe she deserves 5 stars. I would recommend her again and again.

I was a patient of Dr. Nishida until I kept getting harassing phone calls demanding I pay a small balance of 262.00 before I can be seen for my appointment. I tried working out some kind of payment plan, as I am not working right now but I was told I must pay my full balance. I find this outrageous and so unprofessional. I decided to continue my care else where, and still continue to get these harassing phone calls from Dr. Nishida’s office biller/manager. I found the only good thing about that office is the young girls that work at the front desk who were very helpful and professional

Just this past month, my regular gynecologist advised me that I had a very large ovarian cyst. Upon doing some bloodwork, it appeared as though I had elevated markers for cancer. She recommended me to Dr. Nishida for what I thought would be the first step in a very long journey. My gynecologist wanted to have this addressed immediately and Dr. Nishida’s staff did everything in their ability to get me seen as quickly as possible. They were extremely caring and sensitive to me at a time when I was scared and unsure what was going to happen. Three days later, I was in the office and having my first appointment with the doctor. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease in her office. Her staff and nurses all carry themselves very professionally but at the same time are warm and compassionate. Dr. Nishida herself, is extremely professional and thorough. Her office is high-tech and very clean. She answered each one of my questions and concerns, in a clear manner that I understood and never… felt rushed. She put me at ease and was able to determine, after she did some further testing in her office, with a good amount of certainty, that it wasn’t a cancer issue. In my case, I didn’t have too many options but Dr. Nishida explained what the best course of action was and I felt extremely comfortable in the decision we came to together. I was however, going to need a full hysterectomy and she wanted to do it the very next day. Her staff worked tirelessly with my insurance company to get approvals for surgery immediately. They were amazing! Dr. Nishida did my surgery the next morning and did a phenomenal job. I was out of the hospital in 24 hours and was feeling good. I’m 3 weeks postop and I’m recovering very nicely. I am extremely fortunate as all my pathology came back cancer free. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Nishida and her staff to any one of my friends or family. I am forever grateful that she was the doctor that took care of me during this frightening time.

I recently was diagnosed with endometrial cancer one year ago. I came to Dr. Nishida referred by both my Ob/Gyn and primary doctor. I was immediately struck by her confidence and compassion. She scheduled my surgery immediately. I had my surgery robotically. I went home the next day and had as speedy of a recovery as could be hoped for. I spoke to all of my friends who had similar surgeries and by far my recovery was the smoothest and easiest. I feel great and am cancer-free. I have the peace of mind knowing that I am in great hands. Dr. Nishida has made multiple visits after surgery and I have been very pleased with my care. I have been cancer-free over one year and am very optimistic about my future.

I had minimal discomfort after my robotic surgery. After one week I felt better than before the surgery. My pain has resolved. I am thrilled with my results. I appreciated Dr. Nishida's kindness and I truly feel she cares for patients to have the best outcome. I have recommended her to all of my friends and family.

She values each individual and is a highly proficient diagnostic surgeon.

I was completely happy with my experience with Dr. Nishida and her staff. I was nervous about having to see her and she immediately put me at ease. She is extremely knowledgeable with a wonderful bedside manner. Her staff is second to none. Would recommend her in a heartbeat.
